Hi All,
I am just hoping for some reassurance or maybe for someone who had the same experience. So, to make a long story short, I filed a I-130 petition for my Brazilian husband here in São Paulo. Everything seemed to go fine and I was really excited that we had the first step out of the way.
Anyway, a few hours after the intiial filing they called with questions. Well, they first called my home number and spoke with my husband (who was half asleep) and of course he gave them the wrong answers to their questions. (The questions, were regarding when we first started living together and when I first came to Brazil).
So, then a representative from the US Consulate called me at work to verify what my husband had said and of course it was wrong. (My work experience here in Brazil is a bit complicated.) The representative was very nice and took my information and said she would talk to the consulate and if she had any more questions she would call back. So far she has not called back.
Now, I am terrified that my husband not knowing the right dates and them having confusion regarding my living status in Brazil that we can be denied a visa or at the very least the process slowed down. I know this might be a silly questions, but can they deny you for something like this?
Has this happened to anyone else? Is it routine for them to call you with questions?
Apologies for the long winded story.
Any help or reassurance is much appreciated.
Best of luck to you all!
Brandy
