Hello Again Everyone,
As Nana (my husband) has his interview very soon, I have a question that I know you guys can help me with. Nana got his police report done when he went to pick up packets 3 & 4 in Accra back in April. We thought we were going to receive an earlier interview date, so we wanted to get everything done. So my question is, our interview is in September, and Nana's police report is dated in April. Do we have to do another? How long can the police report be done before the interview? I read a post a while ago that said 90 days....is that true?
I would appreciate any help at all.
thanks in advance...

You are correct. The police report is good for 3 months... At least I know that is the case for K-1 petitions. I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same for you. Looks like your husband is going to have to go back and receive another one dated closer to the interview date. Good Luck!!

Actually, it should be one year. That may depend on the embassy though - so your best bet is to ask the embassy!

Speaking for K-1 visa. It was good for 90 days, through the embassy's eyes. Though, I heard the police will give you a hard time to issue a new one. From other post's I've read, tell the police you lost it, is the best way to get a new one. I would call the embassy, I also think my fiance said in one of his package's 3 or 4, it said how long it was good for. Maybe your husband can look over the papers again.

Yeah, guess you should ask your local US embassy, and get the accurate answer. I emailed my local US embassy last few days, and they replied and stated police report is valid for a year from the date of issuance.
Hope it helps, good luck : )

Hi,I would advise him to get another one because the police reports are only valid for 3 months. I am sure of this as long as he is having his interview in Lagos which was where I had mine. Goodluck
