My I-129F was recently approved so now I'm just waiting the couple of weeks or so for it to arrive at the NVC.

Just curious if during this wait will I get any more emails from USCIS telling me it's been shipped?

Can I sign up at the NVC to receive notices like we did at the USCIS?

Or is this part of the journey where I just a sit back and wait for a regular snail mail notification?

I've read the flowcharts so I'm fairly familiar just wondering about the little parts that are not mentioned. hehe.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Nope, that is the last you will hear from USCIS, once they hand it off to NVC it is out of DHS's domain and into DOS's domain.

give it a few weeks then call NVC for case number and status, NVC's automated system wont have K-Visa cases, you need to talk to someone, or email them.

NVC has no automated email notification system.

hi yuanddan

I called NVC yesterday, after week since my I-129F approval, just to see if it had arrived there, and they said no, it normally takes 2-4 weeks. 2 weeks probably, 4 weeks, I'm not so sure of. That sounds a bit excessive. I also asked if anything needs to be sent to them (on their website it says that you must send the DS 230 Part 1 to them, but my consulate's webpage says it must be faxed to the consulate). He said that nothing needs to be sent to them if it is for a K1 visa. We just wait until they send it along... I wonder how long this could take?

Email should have USCIS petition number, and the name and DOB of both petitioner, and beneficiary, they will reply with status, and a case number when they assign a DOS case number.

Hey CONGRATS, I told you I was praying for you, well we are in the same boat (NVC) I was going to give it until tomorrow and start calling to see if my info is there yet.

i agree. it took about three weeks from the date of approval for our case to arrive at NVC. after that, it took a week and a half for it to travel from NVC to the embassy in Thailand. just look at my timelime.

it seems like, once your petition is out of the service center, tracking down your case can be done only by making phone calls.

Good luck. rose.gif

your great sense of humore will keep you sane. smile.gif

Your NOA2 Aapproval date is same as mine. I called the NVC on 7/25/07 to check. NVE did not receive the package. Just waiting.

Good luck to all.

Yeah, I called yesterday, it'd been 9 days, and they said nothing. Is there a number to call to see if it was even sent? The guy on the phone said it normally takes 9 days to 2 weeks for it to get there.

It's been two weeks since we've been approved, and the NVC still doesn't have our info. Can we call the USCIS to verify that it's even been sent? Any special tricks to speed this one up? I will in my in my fiance's country in 2 weeks, and want to be there for his interview.

Does anyone think that we could possibly have our interview before 28 September (I leave his country)? I would really like to be there for him, and to celebrate together, etc.
Cassandra+Yuibi
Does the NVC send us notices Via snail mail? Such as:
"You're petition was received on XXXX date, and was sent to the embassy on XXXX date"

Even though I obsessively call, I like having a hardcopy.

Also, when it arrives at the Embassy, what next? Will my fiance be notified via snail mail?? I just realized today that I've been so consumed with waiting for my NOA2 that I hadn't really thought about tracking the case once it left CSC. blink.gif

Hi Wioombeen -

When I spoke with the lady at CSC last week, she urged me not to contact NVC for 2-3 weeks as they have a considerable backlog. I imagine that our files arrive and sit, and then sit some more, before anyone takes a look. I don't expect packet 3 to arrive until the end of August.

Good luck in this next phase - and at the interview !!

The funny thing about that is when I was divorced many years ago. I paid my lawyer in caricatures of his family and secretaries hahaha.

Was just thinkin', the sort of pictures you might be inclined to draw of agents right now after all this waiting probably wouldn't be very flattering. In fact, might just get your file put to the bottom of the pile. =P

You are running a week or two ahead of me, but I'm in the same boat. I'm not looking forward to the Montreal waiting list =/
