Eddie y Gabriela
Hi, all. I have an important issue that I hope someone can give us advice about. We filed our AOS, EAD and AP June 8. While we've had the biometrics (July 6), no word yet on EAD, AP or interview.

My wife's mother died in Peru today. Obviously, we urgently want to hop on a plane for Peru. But, with no AP papers for my wife, what to do?

Is it safe to let her go and then DHL her the AP papers from the U.S. when, and if, they arrive in the next few weeks? Or do they do something with the AP papers on the way out of the U.S. that's necessary for re-entry?

Last, is there an office I can call for a special exception?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Eddie

Info Pass appointment for the AP, they will issue AP in cases of emergency.

You will need to take proof of the death with you to the infopass appointment.... I am sorry for your wife's loss but please do not let her leave the US without the AP or she will not be allowed back in....

You can not send it to her... because if the date she left is before the date of approval then she will have abandoned her AOS and you would have to file for a K3/CR1 and she would have to wait for that to be approved before she could return home to the US....
