For all of my VJ family and friends who have been following my case and for those who need an update on July 2, 2007 my fiance went for his interview and was given a pick-up ticket to come back on July 5 to receive his visa. But as we all know he did not get it on that day nor the next. As a matter of fact we were place on Administrative Processing without even knowing it. The interviewer did not tell us at the time of the interview and when we would call the embassy they told us the machine that puts the visa in the passport was down which was a total outright lie. On July 11, 2007 I called Washington DC to get the status of my visa and was told that we were on Administrative Review. I was totally shocked because here it is I am thinking the machine is down. This was a total blow to my mind. On July 13, 2007 I said I have got to do something and everything within my ability to see what it is that was wrong. So I once again got in touch with my Senator by printing out a Casework Privacy Release Form from her web site and filled it out along with a letter I wrote telling her of my case and the letter telling us to come pick up the visa armed with all of these I faxed them to her. On July 20, 2007 my fiance got a call from the Lagos embassy saying he could come pick up his visa. Praise Almighty God and as my grandma always say when the praises go up the blessings come down. He will be flying into JFK on Saturday morning and I will be flying to meet him and bring him home. I want to thank all of you who have stood with us during this ordeal. With God and your help we were able to come out of it Victorious. Thank you guys so very much.

Kelechi, Congrats, girl! My fiance goes for his interview next Wed. I'm hoping for approval and a quick visa. I was alarmed when I found out that you were on AP and didn't even know it. Did the Senator actually call over there? I've heard a lot of people say that when it's in AP that the congress person says they can't do anything. I'm so happy for you!!!! It makes me hopeful.
