Has anyone heard from Doodlebug?? If I recall her interview was today at 8am Cairo time!!

Her interview was Sunday. It's a holiday today and I'm sure the offices are probably closed.
And she was supposed to text Deemabrook with how it went.

yeah.. sorry.. she DID text me.. Ive been having alot of drama lately and wasnt able to log on...

ANYWAYS.. bridget said they showed up... and the office was closed. I think it got rescheduled for next week? Maybe the 29th???

Finally news! Thanks so much Dee, I have been worried that it was bad news since you didn't post.
Is she coming back before the 29th? I can't remember how long she's staying this time.

Awwwwwww that sucks! Yeah today is National/Revolution Day in Egypt.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a let down.... How unorganized that is. I do believe a bit of customer service training is in order....like...NOT scheduling people on a KNOWN holiday? Or how about contacting them to let them know its been rescheduled??? Hmmmm...She must be frustrated...I know she wanted to be there for it.....BUT...i do hope she is enjoying her time...Im soo jealous....I leave end of August to Cairo to be with my SO .

can't they do something as simple as schedule an interview when the office is open?

crazy isn't it? they did the same thing to us in Montreal for our 2nd interview in January (then wasnt rescheduled until March)

I looked on the holiday schedule and July 22nd isn't on there. It only says that July 23 is closed for the holiday. That blows big time! They could at least let ppl know of this stuff or how about not scheduling interviews the day between a weekend and a holiday.

Today is the holiday...Monday...My SO confirmed. Apparantlly its jsut that the consular never showed.....Who knows...everyone runs on Egypt time there. So different then here. My SOs family painted their flat..was to take 10 days...took THREE WEEKS!!! But TODAY is the holiday.

Cairo strikes again! Never underestimate their ineptitutude. Just when you think you've seen it all, they will continue to astound you by sinking to new, even lower depths of stupidity.

It had nothing to do with the holiday. The consular dude never showed up to work and never bothered to call in sick so no one even knew he wasn't there at work that day until we were waiting from 7:30am till around 1pm for him.

Just another day for Cairo the bunch of chopfks.
