Finally coming tomorrow...hopefully he can get on the plane in Cairo and doesn't have any problems. G-d I hope there are no problems. I keep having this nightmare that I go to the airport and he is not there...he is still in Cairo arguing with the airline officials...something about this stupid transit visa / no round-trip ticket...

awwww I remember being just so terrified something would go wrong at the airport (one way ticket etc) and didn't relax until he called with boarding passes in hand. I hope everything goes smooth in transit and all of this stress turns out to be for nothing.

Well just as I suspected...the people in Cairo are A$$H*&ES, they would not let him board unless I was flying with him or he had my physical credit card in hand...I asked if I could fax to him a copy with my signature...man at the alitalia stated NO! Now after 2.5 hrs of running around...my fiancee has now missed his flight...not coming tomorrow...

i am in a state of shock right now...very sad...i cannot tell you...

I have seen airlines use the credit card used for purchase as an ID to pull up the records, but I have never seen this happen. OMG I am soooo sorry and this was not the roadbump we were expecting. I'm sure you are disappointed he is not arriving when you hoped and its going to be a mess to fight wth all these agencies to get him on that plane, but do remember he has the visa in hand and that was the hard part.

Finally today got a ticket on Air France for Saturday...so if all goes well, enshallah, he will be here then...I am afraid to get excited as I worry there is going to be another problem.

alright so now...it is really real! he is on the plane and will be arriving tomorrow at approx 1430! OMG, I have so much nervous energy...too bad i did all the cleaning / errands last week when he was supposed to get here on monday Thanks for all your support!

I had originally bought his ticket online with alitalia air and that is how we got into so much trouble. For this flight arriving TODAY I called and confirmed it with the airline, then sent him the money and he went and paid for the ticket at the counter there in egypt. I would strongly recommend doing it this way - and FYI, we did not get him a roundtrip ticket.

before I bought my ticket thru delta .com, I called to make sure my husband won t have any trouble with the electronic ticket. I specifically told them that I read on their site that he may be asked about the credit card. I was told NO PROBLEMS, and so I went ahead and bought it . I am so worried now that I know what had happen to you guys. I am not sure if I should call them again

YAY we know he is on the plane! the only thing that feels better is seeing him walk out of customs! Congratulations! You guys sure have a story to tell the grandkids! Happy Reunion!
