How do I delete my VJ account?

why do you (or anyone for that matter, lets say the rhetorical you) need to "cancel" or "delete" an account? you can always just never log in again and never use your account, right? whats the point of cancelling? not trying to argue here, I've just seen a few posts like this and not understood really what the goal is....

They are just merging accounts with their sig other .
