I checked my timeline this morning and couldn't believe what I've seen. It said Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated as early as April 15, 2008*.

why that? I'm going thru Direct Consular Filing and the whole process until receiving the Visa in Hand shouldn't take longer than 6 month max. and now it takes that long to just approve the I-130?????? There goto be something wrong with the Timelines here. Almost one year to get a I-130 approved?
we where planing on returning to the states no later then October the 1st!!!!!

I am not certian about DCF procedures so may be different than my case.
We just got 130 approval a few weeks ago. As far as I know all cases then go to NVC.
You can find here on V J the flow chart for NVC. From what I read NVC to Interview can take up to 5 months. Sometimes it is faster of course. I also thought timelines were wrong but so far they have been close to reality.
Best to read all & prepare all documents in advance to try to save time because it seems many do not & lose time due to that. I have done so & hope I can save some myself. I have read that NVC has to review 85,000 cases so they are busy. I have tried to call & email NVC in the last two weeks but have not had reply. Frustrating experiance for all of us.
Good luck
