Is it ok/safe for a K-1 fiance to travel to the US Virgin Islands with a state issued ID? (he doesn't have advance parole yet)

It is safe to go to the USVI for your honeymoon. That is actually where we had our wedding. We had no issues at all. Be sure when you leave to show your passport with the I94 to the Customs and Immigrations people not just a ID. Do make sure to stay away from the British Virgin Islands though. Do not chance that.

Have fun it is a beautiful place.

Out of interest, why do you need to show a I-94 when you leave the USVI. I would have thought that in the act of flying from the USVI to mainland you would not encounter any CBP officers. If you do it does sound a bit dangerous.

Not sure why. When we were leaving I originally showed them my Canadian Drivers Liscence then saw shw was checking me out on her computer. I then showed the passport with the I94. She said I should have showed her that in the 1st place. At the Virgin Islands airport they dont have ite seperated for domestic and international flights so everyone has to go through CBP.
