I am sure someone said that DCF'ers have the alternative of contacting the Dept. of State for updates... I have a couple of questions.
1.- (the obvious one) What are the numbers?
2.- Is this an automated system or do you talk to a person?
3.- Does this in any way puts you in the black list?? (Yeah, my paranoia is reaching skyscraper proportions)
4.- Does the DoS have more accurate info than the consulate? (Being as is that MTL has no clue as to what's what)
Thanks, L.
The phone number is 202.663.1225 then menus 1-0-0.
It is both automated and staffed. The menu selections above get you a person.
No, it doesn't harm your case. If anything it shows you are involved.
Generally the DOS visa information line has accurate information that is up to the minute. Many consulates farm out the phone inquiries to contractors that are far less trained and have less access to information that is updated less frequently than DOS.
