My fiancee's consulate for K1 visa is in Romania. If we want a different consulate because my fiancee does not speak romanian, can I request a different consulate for example in Kiev or Moscow? How do I do it and is it possible? Thanks everyone!!!

You could try to request that it be moved by contacting the consulate. But they interviewers will also speak English (I'm assuming your fiancee isn't that good with English?), and who knows if you ask they may have someone who can speak Russian.

Hi,

I married to a Romanian citizen and we were living in Italy and had originally planned on having our interview there. Since we decided to leave Italy and come back to Romania, we were debating on whether to change the location or not and whether it would cause more problems. We called the embassy in Bucharest and explained our situation. Since we had been in the country for about 2months and explained that we were not planning on returning to Italy, they took upon themselves to change the location for us. It turned out rather well, as they contacted NVC and did everything. All I know is that we had a valid reason to change locations, being that we were no longer in Italy, and that's it. I should think a language problem would qualify. I'd give them a call and see what they say.

good luck
