Hello all,

My I765 was submitted on April 27th. The center for which my application was submitted to is showing that they are processing applications that were submitted on the 28th of April. I am curious to know that once they do get to my application, how long does it normally take before I receive my actual work visa in the mail?

Thanks!
Miranda&James
Usually once someone is approved they get the card in a few days to a couple of weeks in the mail, but USCIS dictates that at least 30 days need to be alloted to receive any mail from them once you've been notified mail is on its way.

Usually EADs take about 90 days. If you're past that and the processing date, I would make an infopass appointment ot enquire about the hold up.

The only information that is available online is that it was received on the 27th of April and that the file was last updated in May.

So you are saying that it should be touched again by July 27th or that I should be receiving something in the mail by July 27th?

He's just saying that usually EAD's are processed in 90 days, and are supposed to be processed within 90 days. Hopefully yours will, but if it isn't you should make an Infopass to find out the delay on your EAD.

Sorry I misunderstood your question in my first post!

I mean, if you don't get an email saying that its been approved by July 27th (actualy 90 days would be a few days before that), then you should make an Infopass appointment and ask what is going on. They will then put in an expedite request into the NBC for your EAD. Its all you can do for now.

Would it make sense to put in the info request now? It has been 84 days since they received it including today.

Thanks again.
Dr_LHA
In the next 6 days your EAD might be approved.

Still I guess it wouldn't hurt to request the infopass now, if the system allows you to. As long as its past the 90 day mark.

Just got off the phone with my lawyer.

Immigration is saying that my sponsor requested an extension on their 2006 and requires all 2006 information. This is odd since we have provided this information already. I guess sometimes they make mistakes.

I am in the same boat and my processing date has passed, but without it being approved. Can you clarify what you mean by your sponsor requested an extension on their 2006 and requies all 2006 information? Do you mean your sponsor actually went to the immigration office and asked for an extension or something else? I've called the 800 number and it was totally unhelpful... if you could offer some clarity

My lawyers pushed for an expedite on infopass and they have not heard a response, do you think it is a similar issue?

What I mean is that immigration for some stupid reason thinks that my sponsor (wife) requested an extension to filing her 1040 which is not the case and for this reason they have requested that we send her 2006 W2 and 1040 which makes absolutely no sense since we have already sent this information.
