Who did u talk to Omid at the DOS today! I got SUE! DONT ASK!

Psoft I have written several letters to the Congressmen and senators, they help as much as they can. Not discriminating just because I am the benificiary.

I was just surprised that the embassy didnt send Shon a generic email! thats all!

I spoke to a guy - was nice - I think he was new, the voice was unfamiliar, & I didn't catch his name.

QUOTE(mianishqsrose @ Jun 7 2006, 01:18 PM) *

Hello Everyone,

I think we need a group hug. LOL I see things have been very interesting lately. I have not had time to come and post but try and read the new posts in between running around trying to do all things. Ishteaq got his ss card so we are off to job hunting now. JP had surgery and still dealing with this and its after effects for 6 more weeks and then another major surgery in the fall.

Denali/Allison, Omid, Shonnie, Michigan all of you hang in there on the AP. There is light at the end of the tunnel just do not know when.

Really good luck to all and I am praying that everyone is reunited with their loved ones soon. And Danika good luck once your processing starts.

HUGS,
Mary smile.gif

So good to hear from you Mary - I miss you sad.gif but I'm sure you're enjoying time away and with your family... tell JP we're praying for him... and good luck w/ the job hunting. Thanks for the encouragement and well wishes... luv.gif

Talked to Rochelle at the DOS. She is one of the nicer ones! But unfortunately she didnt have anything to say either. Case is sitll under administrative processing. Even though no more clearances were ordered. The embassy is just sitting on the case.

Even if they have there visa review meeting it didnt help. I swear I dont know what to do! When is this hell going to end?

I am seriously thinking of just giving up on this immigration stuff, asking my wife to move to Pakistan and just start looking for jobs here.

If I were you I would get a job first try to get settle down and then ask my wife to come over. In that way you won’t feel much about this “VISA SAGA”
Life and Immigration two different ‘streams’ let them roll concurrently

yes, thats what I am going to do. From tommorow no more trying to do different things for visa. Concentrating on dropping my resume and seeing what happens. May Allah guide me through these testing times..

May Allah give us all patience Michigan -- insha'Allah you will hear something soon ... have you (or your SO) tried calling the embassy and speaking with a CO to see what the hold up is? Maybe that will give you some insight.

is there something in the water? Javed is thinking the same thing. he is very frustratied. he said there
is no system here just waiting and no answers. He said if the embassy ever calls him he will say.
" give me my dayum passport back" he dont want to come here. I asked him what kind of life is that
for me and him? does he really want me to move to pakistan? what about my education? I am graduating next year so I have to give that up and not attend law school? he said oh god I dont know. this is crazy.
I ask him did he love me? he said of course he loves me. I told him that some how we will get past this stuff. Right now he is feeling so upset. I cant do anything to make him feel better. not a thing. maybe tomorrow he will be in a better mood. sad.gif

it dont help reading CNN the illegals pay some F - up fee to stay here. we all do this the legal way and get told " wait in the corner" while they poke and pride in our lives! This is not fair!! mad.gif
I think this what prompted Javeds frustration - dayum CNN- SU Gente!!!! grrrr

you both have to cheer up. I know this is very hard. harder because you have been going thought this too
long. but, dont give up and dont give in to the G. Dubyas!!!! (((( huggg)))))))

lol! I wish I could talk to a CO. The Pakistani employees think that they are Gods and never put you through to a CO. Oh well. I have emailed them regarding this.

I was told by a CO in the email that the security clearance is the only thing pending in my case. If they have the SAO now, just give me an answer. So I can go on with my life! Just ridiculous!

My wife's doctor will be providing a letter that my absence is having negative effect on her health and I am the only family she has that can take care of her. I will fax that to the DCG when I get it in the next week.
babybunny
I agree. takes so much effert to talk to a CO. The best way to talk to a CO - is to come up with a way to make the situation urgent. the hard part is actully having the people answer the phone. they never pick up.
the phone rings for ever mad.gif last time I talk to CO I kept saying this
" I am an american, I demand to speak to an american please"

when someone say hold on..
I would say the statement over nothing more til the CO.. comes to the phone.. try it.

I have a medical issue. I have a brain tumor. I never thought of using it for the visa to be expedited..

Hi michigan, I see your timeline starts from 2004. If you were married 4 years ago, why didn't ypu apply for him sooner? Or is it that immigration took you 4 years? I don't think it can take that long. I am sorry to hear this but can u plz tell me what happened in your case and why 4 yrs? Did u apply after 2 yrs of being married or what?

well yes! I was on F-1 never bothered filing! Got some bad advice from lawyers. So when visa expired decided to come back instead of living illegally in the US. Which was the biggest mistake I mean in my life!

If you were on F1 then you didn’t complete your degree? I think you didn’t graduate that was the reason you didn’t get a change to move towards OPT or H1. By the way which school you attended in MI?

have your wife call Department of state and check on if the security checks are cleared.
thats all you can do til this mess is over. have patients its gonna take several months. rose.gif

Finally a Good news here. AP/AR is completed both at DOS and Embassy. My Husband's case got adjudicated, and they gonna issue the visa soon, or I think they already have. But again this is verbal information and nothing in written yet. So hope they don't change mind again like they did a while ago.

All you out there, Be patient, GOD IS GREAT!!!

sometimes the full set of finger prints is a request that the embassy gets later on from DOS.
jess I think her husband had full set of prints later in her AP process..

good luck to everyone next week
michigan
Omid, either a result from one of ur security checks from zour securitz advisorz opinion triggered the full set of finger prints. Or it could be that the embassz simplz forgot and later realized that you had not submitted the FPs.

MaryandMian
Atif you will have to wait out the processing. You got a 221g for administrative processing and this is normal for cases that they will look at more closely. You also have had a name hit in one of the many data bases. That is why they requested the full set of prints. I will say that you must pray for patience now. My husband got the same paperwork and it was not 45 days until we completed our processing. He interviewed on Dec 12th, 2005 and we just got adjudicated in May 2006.

You can have your SO call DOS in few weeks on Wednesday or Thursdays seem to be the updated timelines. They will not tell you anything while in AP but that they will contact the applicant once they are ready to resume processing. Just take it one day at a time and pray for patience and understanding.

first calm down.
secondly breathe..

Dont worry. basicly they are telling you that you have 221g. just like the rest of us.
plus they are adding a little more time because, they wanted FULL set of Finger prints.
in about 60-90 days < ask omid how long >
but your SO needs to call FBI see if the finger prints are done and cleared.
once thats done then they will continue with the name checks.

here is the number for the FBI

FBI Fingerprint Status (304) 625-2000

have case number and DOB of < alien>

Hello i would like to ask one question..probably this is stupid but ok the question is..,DOS issue visas or DOS only do security checks?? or embassy issue visas?
michigan
I think DOS provides the embassy with the Security advisory opinions and at the end its a consular's decission to issue visas.

That is true. The embassy makes the final decision on whether to approve or deny a visa. DOS does the security checks and does make a recommendation on how to proceed and the CO is the one with the authority.
