Actually some people on the "blue" sheet get the 221(g) and some people get the "other" option checked.
Just like ARS they didnt check the 221G option but checked the OTHER option!
see attachment i attached it this is not even a blue sheet just one white piece of paper
Ishteaq got this form as well as a 221g form. And it looked identical but Administrative Processing can take longer so mentally prepare for a longer wait. If you do not have to endure it then you will be blessed. And your minimum days are to be only the days the embassy is open. You cannot count the weekends or holidays they must be skipped. If you contact them early they will say the dates are for business days and your case is still pending.

Index prints are done electronically. If you surrender a full set of prints you have had a name hit already in a data base and it must be overcome. Your best bet is to call DOS for an update but they will not tell you anything until they finish the AP.

electronic finger prints are cleared in 24 hours. < FBI>
the other checks such as the CONDOR check is what you are waiting on right now. I would call DOS ask how many checks are still pending.

Electronic index finger prints are not used for references through security check. They are used for record keeping as the US government along with names and DOBs uses finger prints as a record.
And the full set of fingerprints is done apparently for "chameleon" check. It says on the link regarding the Ar/AP process.
one more thing! family friends of mine applied for a non-immigrant visa to the US! DAMN! They gave a two month date! To be interviewed in LATE JULY! That is just ridiculous!

Finally today I have confirmation. Ishteaq will be home late night of May 23rd so I will be saying farewell for some time to VJ in the next few days. JP is having surgery in one week and so it will be hectic around the house here. I will try and check in and see how everyone is progressing. Everyone please try and help each other by cheering each other on and rely on your faith. I will post his POE and update the records in the timelines as soon as things are settled or if he is sleeping from jet lag.
Good luck and God Bless,

thanks shonjaved...so is this some kind of temporary denial? well we have no petition history or anything else like this..,but the consular gave passport to 2 boys before and say come later with passports when we will call..,but they wont give me my passport they keep it..now if i will have to travel somewhere how can i???is there is anyway to get my passport back? he gave me token so can i give them token and get my passport in case i will need to travel somewhere during visa process..,let me know please
221g is a TEMP denial. because, they cant issue a visa if they have not done the security checks.
COs have to give you someting when you walk out the embassy either the visa or an excuse.
in this case you left your passport got a token < this is a good thing >.
you were given 221g letter

the good news when your case is done
they will just send the passport with visa stamp to Amex Courior- thats why you have the brown token..
understand now?

AR- I supposed you could DEMAND them give you
your passport back . I dont think you want to - right?
Right now I am in transit in HongKong back to SFO without my husband. so i had to leave him behind again and this time becuase of AR

i am extremly sad and cried all the way through.
anyways, my question is this that we did not get any form or 221g at the embassy. We were simply asked to submit passport for visa. they did not tell us anything about AR. So how different is our case from the rest who get AR notice at the interview?

ARs no one is certain of what all checks will be done on them. Once you go for your interview they take your fingerprints either index or full set. If full set you already had a name hit in the data base and are in a Chameleon check.
These checks I am listing are the main ones for the ME/Asian men.
1. Bear
2. Condor
3. Donkey
4. Eagle
5. Horse
6. Mantis is a technology check depending on schooling or job **** Several types of mantis too****
7. Pegasus
Like I have said before is you will have to be patient since you are in AP and they will not discuss any of this information with you. Your best bet is to call DOS on Wednesday or Thursday of each week for an update.
All AP/AR cases go to review meetings at DOS and then again at the embassy. So your dates that will show movement are going to run in the last week of each month and first week of the following month.

Ar,
you are so right. I get very sad when those with experiance move on and never post.
its natural really. once you get your spouse home you can careless about this hellish process.
I suspect Mary will move on like all the others and she will make rare postings too. but, I will
be here til my time is up.. then make cameo appearances too. you will do the same I am sure.
most of us have been on here for over 1 year it starts to get old and the emotions get worn thin.
when you finally get to the end of the road its time to take a long break. I do appreciate
when those preceeding us post it makes us feel like Hey we will move on just like that did.
Hang in there.. Keep posting. keep the ISL threads alive.

Shonnie hit it on the head with my leaving for some time. I need a break and to get my husband settled in the USA. I will try and come on and check but I will not devote the time and energy to VJ as before. Some of us will stay in touch via phone and have made friendships out of our long journeys. Once you have been on here for as long as some of us have you have to walk away and rejuvenate. My hope is that the ones on here will continue this thread so others that go behind or are still in the processing have a place to meet and share their stories, ask for advice and sometimes just need to vent or a shoulder.

AR/AP is not an automatic denial. A 221(g) just means they are checking things more closely. AR is security clearances. AP is more indepth. Sorry to say no one ever has posted that they were outright denied in the forums that I am aware of. Maybe someone else will know and can advise.

He has filed a waiver now. It is for overstay or something else and they knew they had an issue at time. I know of several on here that needed waivers and filed them last year for overstays in the USA before. Waivers are taking months or years to get approved. Shakil is one that filed last summer and it is still not processed and his was an overstay. Ayesha is also another one with a Pakistani husband and they filed about the same time last year also believe he is overstay in USA.
If you have do not have any criminal activity or overstays you do not need to file waivers. Most Pakistanis have had an overstay in USA and then have to file a waiver to overcome it. If they cannot issue the visa they will inform you at time of interivew if you need to file a waiver.

If the new passes in 1-2 months, people can pay a $2,000 fine instead of waiting for a waiver for overstays currently. An amendment is being introduced by Senator Feinstein hopefully that will also cover a waiver for misrepresentation (which I guess would be pretty common for Pakistanis also since we are overseas and alot of people enter with false documents) for $2,000. Please call Senator Feinstein if you live in the U.S.A. or are a U.S. Citizen, if you are out of the U.S. and a U.S. Citizen explain to them why you have to be out (waiting for waiver or waiting for AR/AP and tell them how long). it's very encouraging to hear others loved ones receiving their visas after ar/ap. i recently emailed the islamabad embassy regarding my husbands case. specifically asking whether or not he will have to go for another interview for CR1 visa since he already went for K3 visa interview. this was their reply:
Dear Madam,
Certainly he needs to appear for his IR1 interview but he will only be interviewed after we are done with the administrative process on his K3 case.
Thanks
IV Unit
this sucks big time!!
so my question again is this, why can't they issue him the K3 visa after the ar/ap is done for that case?
he still has to go back to the embassy anyway to get the K3 visa once ar/ap is complete, at least this is what the CO told him, but now he will have to go for ANOTHER interview? they only answered one of my qwuestions in the email.
i have yet to find out what happens under our situation. i am sure there are many posters on here that have been in the same situation as we're in right now, so can you all please post what will happen from here on out please??!!

Certainly he needs to appear for his IR1 interview but he will only be interviewed after we are done with the administrative process on his K3 case.
Thanks
IV Unit
this sucks big time!!
so my question again is this, why can't they issue him the K3 visa after the ar/ap is done for that case?
he still has to go back to the embassy anyway to get the K3 visa once ar/ap is complete, at least this is what the CO told him, but now he will have to go for ANOTHER interview? they only answered one of my qwuestions in the email.
i have yet to find out what happens under our situation. i am sure there are many posters on here that have been in the same situation as we're in right now, so can you all please post what will happen from here on out please??!!
regards,
molly
we are in the same situation as you, my husband interviewed for < K-3 > except I also got interviewed USC> and we had 2 field investigations.

The embassy has my husbands passport they will issue visa when he gets off AR/AP. let me tell you this. I think our K-3 AR was done jan 13th. they never issued the visa because the CR1 was heading to the embassy.

so we waited and waited til April 6th. they put us back on AR/Ap crap. and so we wait.
