He's like one or two years above 40. Is there a list of common names? Honestly, i've never heard of any other person with my dad's name because it's such a weird name, but then again who knows! This would be like his 3rd interview since he's had 2 AOS' in the U.S. but was denied each time because I-212 requires you to leave the U.S. before it starts processing, which he needed. From what I know, both times he took his fingerprints he didn't have ANY hits, but then that was the U.S. and this is a consulate so I dunno what will happen. I'm praying for some reform and quick AR/AP.
michigan
Well good thing is that he has a uncommon name! Thats definitely good! Bad thing is if he a couple years above 40, he will definitely have to go through AP! Dont worry, you should be ok! If u have any questions, feel free to drop me a PM.

Also when is his interview?
canuhandleit
er my parents forbid me to share that with anyone, they haven't even told their own parents... their suspicious I suppose so I just can't share it. It's within a few weeks. Eh, its also a family based though?

Good luck on your family based petiton. I know most men are getting AR/AP and have heard of even a few older ones. Just take and mentally say I might have to endure this and it helps. If you do not then you are most fortunate. And rely on your faith and ask for patience and understanding. I also need to say welcome to the Islamabad forums.

canuhandleit
Well :-( lol
does a high priority applicant adjuster change the AP/AR review a little maybe?
My dad's friend is aroudn his same age over there, he also left voluntarily like my dad from the exact same city and exact same church actually and had a family based petition. My dad said that his friend said that he had no problems relating to security and recieved his packet (the one they give you and tell you to not open before a officer does when you arrive POE) within a few days in the mail.
babybunny
if you wanna know more about AR/AP
read here...makes for good bathroom reading!

no 2 cases are alike. your father is in his 40s. the odds of AR/AP are likely
read the AP/AR i have sent you.
canuhandleit
WOAH its long... haha i'll have to read it one day. Why is a 40 year old man more likely to have AR/AP than a younger person, say in their early/mid-20s and early 30s, which would be like the most targetted age by terrorist organizations. Just wondering. Hopefully he won't need AR/AP. Another question, would it be a good idea to get a letter from the community he lives in over there and from our community for all the good services he's done possibly, would that help? haha just wondering. I'll find out soon enough :-)

wrong... age 16-79 read the pages..as far as good citizen letters.. laughing.gif
they work thats why we contact the congressman and sentator 1001 times. good luck!
canuhandleit
LOL even at the age of 79 people are getting AR/AP? lmao, what's wrong with our country. I don't think they understand that 99.9% of the people in the T26 nations are NOT terrorist.

as it stands now on May 2006 . Pakistan is one of the T-26 country. why its on the list is
beyond me. while most of us agree pakistan is not a terrorist country- Condalizza Rice
disagree. The CO at ISL embassy was given instructions to perform what is called
at CONDOR check on all Petitions with Name hits. That includes anyone with common names.
The COs hands are tied. wanna know why????? because, even if the CO was and decided
hey like canuhandleit - he interview well the direction did not come from his bosses it came higher
up! when you got at POE - they would turn you right around. sad.gif

as for expediting the security check only ATTNy General and Sec of def. and of course
the president can expedite the security check process. but, then they made the damm rule
anyways.

I supposed the only way to get thougth this AR/AP hell is not to get all pissed off about it.
but, just deal with it. talk to your family members and plan 1001 times your precious
family reunion. that is the only thing that is keeping me sane.
I am a victim of AR/AP hell- 8 months and 21 days.
canuhandleit
Well, I mean we do have friends higher up in the food chain (not the president or attorney general or that high) that have expedited everything they could legally. I think they may have done most of the secruity clearance on him also, this is going to be his 3rd security clearance, the 1st and 2nd came out clean too but those were in the U.S. If it comes down to it, I suppose i'll be ready to handle it. Eh, if that reform bill passes I have nothing to worry about. I can wait for an AR/AP if they bring that law in, my dad is admissible with the program to legalize immigrants that were in the U.S. for atleast 5 years.

let me get this straight are you implying that the people on this board did not try the same crap you are intending to pull? alot of us wrote the VP and PRes. some even wrote condalizza too. there is NO ONE that can expedite AR/AP. do you think we like sitting on AR/AP from our family members? I have not seen my husband since my wedding day, you think I like this mess? you think we deserv it? no one on this board is telling you nothing diffrent at all. infact, everyone is making you aware its a 99% certainty. may it be 17 days to 2 years. its up to the bigg AR wizzards in the sky. you just have to deal with this and cope.
hafiz
oh man this new law
michigan
Security clearances CAN be expedited by the power vested in the Secretary of State. Congressman and Senators dont have the power to the security clearance expedited
canuhandleit
Isn't this new law adding more security checks? damn... lol

Dear Madam,

A search of our files indicates that this case is still undergoing additional
necessary administrative processing as part of the security clearance procedure.
Visa applicant affected by additional screening should expect delays before the
case is concluded. It is difficult to predict the amount of time that the
clearance process will take. As soon as it is complete, we will contact the
applicant for continued processing of the visa application. Also, your
husband's immigration case is still under administrative process.

Thanks
MaryandMian

MaryandMian
No they are not the same.

I. ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
"Administrative Review" refers to a Consular Official placing the case "on hold" because the Visa Petitioner or Beneficiary FAILED TO PASS the security name check or background check, or because the Consulate or State Department or Homeland Security NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE some issue or matter in the case more closely. Cases placed into Administrative Review can ADD WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS to processing time and final decision on visa issuance, typically in most cases AT LEAST 4 to 8 weeks additional time. Under current regulation, there is no right of appeal within State Department or Homeland Security for administrative review status. It is suggested that visa petitioners and beneficiaries keep track of the status of their case as best as possible, and secure, if possible, the reason or reasons their case has been placed into administrative review, which at least helps to relieve some anxiety during the waiting time.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING
Can be a field investigation to your home or job, they go and make sure marriages or relationships are valid and that the documents submitted are proper and to rule out fraud.

You can have AR and then AP as well during your processing and in either case a congressman or senator CANNOT help to expedite the cases. AP is also a black abyss without any details given. I know my husband was in it for almost 5 months and we could not find out any details other than saying we are in Administrative Processing.

Good luck.

oh thank u marry but he told me this will process in washington DC so would u like to tell me how can i know the status? and where to contact any email address??

MaryandMian
You will not be able to find out much information while it is in Administrative Processing. But I did call weekly to DOS and ask them for an update or any movement on our case. It never changed from Dec 13th until earlier this month. I also suggest to call on Wednesdays or Thursdays of each week since they seem to update on these days.

Call DOS at 1-202-663-1225
Enter 1
Enter 0

You will get a live operator. They will ask for full name, date of birth, and visa applicant number. They will put you on hold and then come back and tell you any information.

I will say to be patient and it is taking some time. Omid is in AP as well and is still in the dark on her case since January.

AR
adding to what mary sayes. alot of times the terms AP/ AR is confusing.
this whole horrible security check process can last 19-2years..
take it one month at a time.

I want to let you know that the Embassy has its Visa Review meeting. The visa review meeting is for all
AR/AP cases to have a recommendation. this meeting happensaround the ENDing or beginning of the month. this is the time to start getting happy. this is the time when your case get to be ADJUDICATED. if it dont happen then.. wait for the next meeting.

Last month I think the meeting was held around April 6th. I dont know about this month
prouble around the same time. June perhaps around the same time..

8 months and 23 days - in AP
MaryandMian
Shonnie it was the first week of May. I am looking at my files. I called DOS on May 3rd and that was the date I was told Mian had a letter sent to him to appear in person again at at the embassy. So the review meeting was the week before at DOS.

221g is a TEMP denial. because, they cant issue a visa if they have not done the security checks.
COs have to give you someting when you walk out the embassy either the visa or an excuse.
in this case you left your passport got a token < this is a good thing >. good.gif
you were given 221g letter good.gif the good news when your case is done
they will just send the passport with visa stamp to Amex Courior- thats why you have the brown token..
understand now? biggrin.gif

AR- I supposed you could DEMAND them give you
your passport back . I dont think you want to - right?

Actually some people on the "blue" sheet get the 221(g) and some people get the "other" option checked.

Just like ARS they didnt check the 221G option but checked the OTHER option!
