I traveled to Karachi on my own back on Feb. 2007 and yes i was nerveous. Once I got on my flights and stuff, I was okay. The only time I was nerveous was in Istanbul, cause I was afraid that I would miss my flight...lol but my trip was wondeful. I left on Feb 23 got to karachi on Feb 25th, and got back into the states on April 20th.2007. I fell in love with my new family and i just love the culture. I loved the food, the togetherness, just everything. I ate and drank everything they did and I only got sick once and it could have been the pineapple drink, but still....I never complained. I had travelled before to Manila, Philippines for my job and well I seen ALOT of stuff there too. It is anywhere you go, you just have to be smart and make good decisions. You will do great and just have fun and enjoy everything. Take lots of pics......you never know when you may go back. I would love to go back, but we just don't have the money and still we have more fees to pay for this immigration process. So, just enjoy your trip and your new husband.

Good luck to those waiting and I agree that with FarahAmeerHumza you got a miracle since this is the first expedite that I have seen in my almost three years on VJ coming from Islamabad for a male this quickly. The last expedite I saw was for a K-3 male and he still has not gotten his AOS done in the USA for over one year now they are still processing. I think maybe the new amabassdor may have something to do with it since Crocker left we have had some many of the AR/AP'ers that were in long waits finally get their visa's ajudicated.

Thank you guys for all the well wishes. This is all my the grace my malik ALLAH. I prayed on this so much because I did not want my husband to see his child when she was so late in age. Inshallah he will see her now within her first months in this world. Any interview tips would be muchly appreciated and also GOOD LUCK to all. Have faith. Be persitent with the embassy. And most of all pray.

The GC reached me in 33 days against the statment passed to me AT POE that it will take 6 to 10 months.

By the grace of Almighty ALLAH, my parents were interviewed today and got approved should be receiving their passports within 8-10 days. It was a thunder storm with hard rain in Islamabad, we all went inside by 8:15am the interview was for 5-7 minutes and got the pink visa tokens for their immigrants visas and out by 11AM.

I have been living in the UK for the past 5 years and we applied for both K-3 and CR-1. The K3 is going through Islamabad embassy in Pakistan (since we got married in Pakistan) and the CR-1 is going through the London embassy. My case was sent to the London embassy on September 19, 2007 and I am waiting for an interview date from them. Today I got a packet from Islamabad which says that they have scheduled my K3 visa interview for November 20, 2007.
I want to go through with the CR-1 visa because it has more benefits and also I don’t have any plans to go to Pakistan any time soon. What should I do now? Should I contact the Islamabad embassy to cancel the K3 or should I keep it as a backup? Would this have any affect on getting an interview date from the London embassy?
Also I read on some timelines that people know when the embassy received their case. How can I find out if the London embassy has received my case or not?

Everyone: thanks for posting this info. So I need some additional info: I have filed for a K-1, and my fiance already submitted her papers to the US Embassy 6 weeks ago (Aug 7th 2007), and is now waiting for an interview. How backed up is the Embassy? Are they really taking 4 months to schedule interviews. Can someone give me the 411 on what's going on there? Much appreciated.

ALHAMDULLILAH, today i got a call from american express to collect my passport with visa and seal envelope. Thank GOD that my prolong waiting comes to an end and get ready for my departure to United States and reunion with my loving fiancee. I thank every member here who been supporting to me in this prolong waiting and wish them good luck for their visa journey.

Welcome to the Islamabad forum and will tell you that your case is a little different since you are going thru two different embassies. I will answer your last question of finding out if they have your case their yet. If you have already gotten your NOA 2 and at least one month has passed you can email London and ask for a status update on your case. Give them the case number, type and full name on your case and they will usually repond in a day or two with an update. Good luck.

Austinn Pawers nice to see you in the forum and good luck on this being the last of your AP. As far a a purple thing is is half size and does it have numbers on it? If so this is the token you present when you go to the courreir for retrieving your passport back from them. Look at Babybunny post from long ago if you can find it and it shows a copy of her husband's token she posted last year some time.

Faal4anisa I am so happy for you both this is wonderful news so now time to make homecoming arrangements. Good luck on getting to the states soon.

MangoBaby welcome to the Islamabad forum and good luck on your K-1 being scheduled soon. I will tell you that Islamabad is very busy all the time and right now you are coming up on the end of the physical year, the DV, and then holidays too. I can only tell you to have patience and hopefully it will not take another 4 months before your fiance gets an interview. The new ambassador seems to be moving the older cases that are in AR/AP for such a long time and this is good news for all the Pakistani's that have had long waits.

Thanks for the update MaryandMian, yes the purple thing is having a number and there is also a text mentioned "COLLECT PASSPORT", do you have any idea about the cards colors, does color matter ??????? nothing just curious about the decission they are gonna make.....I am expecting a call within a 10 days of time anybody out there got that color of card ???

I lost my Pakistani birth certificate but I have a photocopy of it can anybody tell me how can I get the duplicate one, and will the US embassy consider it?Somebody told me I can get it from The Union council office, is it true if yes would the embassy accept it or do I have to get it from the BALDIA OFFICE.

Does anyone know how to upgrade a petition from F2A to IR1? How did you send a copy of your naturalization certificate to ISL? Which courier?

our case was at NVC when we upgraded it from F2A to IR1. I called NVC and they advised me to send them a letter along with a copy of my Nat. Cert.

I assume your case is at ISB embassy? You can contact them at +9251 208 2121 ( press 1, then 1). Call them between 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM (Pak Time). You can also send them email at PakIVInfo@state.gov

Yes, My wife's case is at ISB Embassy..It was completed around two months ago at NVC.
I emailed ISL about instructions, haven't received any response yet.

They usually reply back in 2 to 3 days.

I upgraded when the petition was at the Service Center. I sent them a notarized letter stating that I have become a citizen and want to upgrade, copy of my Naturalization certificate and copy of NOA1. I also called the USCIS 800 number.

I agree with jaxguy that you can email them, but if it is possible, you can scan your certificate and email that too and let them know that it is attached. Make sure you put the case# in the subject line of the email. Yes, the only way to get is to go the Baldia(Municple corporation) office in your city. And, it is a good idea to have a photocopy. I think you need original in embassy. They will not accept the photocopy and if if it is in Urdu, then, u also need a translation.
