I called NVC on Monday and was informed DS230 was generated week of July 30th. NVC couldn't tell me the exact date of DS230 generation. I am in Pakistan visiting family, and planned to send DS230 from Pak using Jame's shortcut. Now I can't find the exact generation date and thinking about delaying mailing DS230 back to NVC until I get back to US, third week of Aug. It will delay the process by 2 weeks, Oh well !!!! what else can you do.

Well, after having 2dn, 3rd, 4th and 5th thought, I decided to mail DS320 from Lahore, PK. NVC usually generate letters on Monday, so I dated the cover page July 30th.
Does NVC really pay attention to date on cover letter vs. the date it generates letter in case my July 30th guess is wrong? Whats the worst can happen?

Just wanted to share something in case someone might need the info... since my husbands inerview(july 25,2007) I have moved, He ison AP now. I wasnt sure if I had to update the info with the consulate.. I e-mailed them and got a response the second day.. They told me to fax them to request change of address...

I had similar issue with my daughter's DS230. I created a cover page using James' shortcuts and wrote by hand on it that it's not an original document (small print on the side to cover myself). It was accepted at NVC and so far I haven't seen any issues.

Mangoes was the main reason I decided to visit family this time of the year. Weather is hot and muggy and loadshedding makes it worse even though its only 2 times a day 30 mins each........worth getting these tasty Mangoes.......

Just be sure you use the new template. Last I checked the shortcuts had two listed in the thread, I started to use the first one listed to later realize there is another one towards the end.

Our waivers both the I212 and the I601 were denied in the begining of August. We will appeal the decision, but honestly I am so tired of all this immigration crap, it's been all together 5 years. Anyway, at the same time we received a letter from the Islamabad Embassy that says;

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are ready to continue processing of your immigrant visa application. Please come to the Consular Section, American Embassy, Islamabad , Pakistan on any working Monday between 8-10 am.

Please bring all of your passports (current/previous) and this letter with you.

Does anyway know what this means? We filed for the K-3 and I-130, but only went to the interview for the K-3 which is the denial, the I-130 we did not go for the interview for, hoping that we could finish processing here in the US. I believe that the letter is asking us to start the interview process for the I-130? I dont know. Thanks for anyones help. Ayehsa

I'm so sorry to hear your waivers were denied.

I don't really know what the letter means that the Embassy sent your husband. My husband got the same letter and got the Visa when he went back in - however, we did not have any waivers involved in our case.

Did you finish the paperwork for the I-130 all the way through the NVC? Did the Embassy get the I-130 (CR-1) application while you were waiting for your waiver approvals?

Asslam o Alikum, every one, I am back to U.S. I arrived yesterday, but unfortunately I had to come alone without my husband . As you all know our interview was on July 24th. I went with my husband, and they did let me in, but at the time of interview they asked me to have the seat. we had to wait almost 4 hours before they call him for interview. Interview went great only 10 min. Asked him general questions of when the wedding was, where it was held, asked about my parents, him job etc. In the end said congratulations and welcome to U.S.A. and told him that there is some admin. proc before his visa will be granted but there is no problem with his case and he should get the visa one week to one month inshallah sooner ameen. so we are also on AP, I will be calling DOS to get the update tomorrow, hopefully some good news. its been really hard for me and I am missing my husband a lot. please pray for us that like others we also get good news soon inshallah.
Can someone tell me what is the number for DOS and what are the timings. what is the best time to call.

All they will tell you is that your case is still in AP/AR but do not get discouraged. One day your status will change and I suggest calling on Wednesday afternoons or Thursday since that was when the cabled updates were in the system. Good luck on a speedy AR/AP.

This thread has been relatively quite recently.

I receive a letter today from Department of Homeland Security stating that,

"Welcome to the United States. We have received your immigrant visa packet from the port of entry where you entered the United States. At the top of this notice you will see a very important number. It is your USCIS account number (A-number). This account number is very important to you. You will need it whenever you contact us. The receipt number shown above is simply a tracking number for you immigrant visa packet.

You should hear from us within 30 days from the date shown on this notice. If any of the information about you shown above is incorrect, if you move, or if you don't hear from us withine the next 30 days, please call customer service."

OK IT MEANS THAT I WILL RECIEVE MY GC AFTER 30 DAYS. I ALSO DID NOT RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER YET. HOW MUCH TIME IT WILL TAKE TO RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AS I WENT TO THE LOCAL SOCIAL SEURITY OFFICE NEXT DAY WHEN I ARRIVED HERE?

my freinds husband has been put on AR. who she should be calling in U.S. to find out whats going on. FBI or state dept.?

Mike she can call DOS and ask for an update but AR/AP they do not have to tell you anything and they will not give out specifics like they are running xxx check. More than likely her name checks were not completed and have to be run and that is why the visa was not approved. Good luck.

Your 129f will be processed first and sent to NVC, and your 130 will stay with USCIS.

So it means I have no choice but to follow K3?? I heard on this thread that K3 and CR1 both runs until one of each reach consulate.

It depends on how much each peition has practiced for the race, just kidding, bro relax, it will take some time. All i can say is if you can wait for CR1 to ride through the process, it is well worth the wait.

But I heard CR1 is taking 3 or more month longer than K3. If thats the case than should be worth it to stick with K3?

DS-230 entered in NVC system: Aug 15, 2007

Once NVC receives DS-230, it takes them 8 to 10 days to complete the case.
Next step: Transfer the case to ISB Embassy, usually takes about a week. Then Beneficiary receives Packet 3 within a week. Packet 4, which also includes Interview date, depends if you applied for IR1/CR1 or K visa. What I have seen here in this forum, K visa applicant get interview date after 2 months. IR1/CR1 may take 4 to 6 months for interview date.
I believe medical in Lahore costs about Rs 5,000 to 7,000

Current Status: Case Rejected

On August 15, 2007, we determined that this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was not properly filed, rejected it, and mailed it back to you with all supporting materials along with a notice describing the reasons the case was rejected. The notice will also describe what will need to be done to properly submit the case.
I am trying to figure out what it can be. Someone has told me that it might be that I have sent them wrong amount or they never got the payment. I sent the money order for $180.00 for EAD, was it the right amount becasue I cant find the old fee schedule. I am so frustrated cuz I already arrange for her job but.....
Why they have to wait 2 months to realize that application was filed WRONG?

Jaxguy...4 to 6 month for INTERVIEW i thought after consulate receive the packet from NVC.. it usually takes 53 days.. that what the timeline says on VJ.. I M CONFUSEDDDD...

For K visa the wait is about 2 months. 4 to 6 months is for IR1/CR1 applicants.

I am sorry but, yes, IR1/CR1 takes longer and thats what I-130 is filed for
For K visa you have to file I-129
Hang in there. I know its very frustrating to wait during this process but IR1/CR1 process is much better in the long run.

and I dont think its 4-6 months from when the NVC sends first packet to embassy its after u sumbit the last 3.5 packet to the embassy that they give interiew date.. my husband submitted his packet 3.5 on feb 15,200 and recieved his interview date on march 6, 2007 for july 25,, 2007. About 6 months... He is now on Ap.. they told him it should take 3-4 months to clear.. but who knows...

Hi friends.

Atlast, i had happy reusion on August 15's eve.

I reached Houston after a long journey of 28 hours. I opted the route Karachi-Dubai-London-Houston. Upto London, Emirates was my host and later Continential served me.

Immigration process was smooth. They took 1 hour inorder to complete the paper proceedings. NO question asked except custom point of view and confirmation of my destination address. No fun seen for holding Xray and vaccination record.


And well, after reaching home. My daughter came in this world to say me "welcome home daddy!" as Allah blessed me Baby girl on August 16 (just within 20 hours i have landed houston).
