Any suggestions? My job has been changed after I sent the affidavit of support form (I-864) to NVC. Do I need to fill a new form and send to the embassy alongwith the pay stubs (or letter from company) or send to my wife so she can take with her to the embassy or just stick to the one that I sent couple of months ago and dont mention my new job. Because I dont want the process to get delayed by me sending new documents. Has this happened to anyone, ???

You MUST send in a new form, as they called my co-sponser's place of employment in the US to verify, and my atty advised me to fill out a new one, also update any other forms with this new information, there is one I think the bio form, hope this helps.......... and yes, DO include letter from your new employer and pay stubs.

Where do I need to send the forms? To NVC, to the embassy or should my wife take those forms with her to the interview.

she can take with her to the interview.

thank you

Babybunny,

This looks encouraging. When cases that become as dead as ours (even if they are very different from ours)... when they come to life, it gives me hope ours just might show some signs of life one day too. I hope this is a good sign for you, inshAllah... and that you two get out of the wait-hell very soon.
Ali Khan
I think thats great news....even though they are asking for additional proof its definately a good sign atleast they are doing something!! I hope you get the visa soon. Goodluck!

I have sent my wife I-134 and all supporting forms like job letter. bank letter, pay stubs etc. for her interview in Islamabad, I put I-134 in one envelope and one envelope for the pay stubs and then one envelope for the bank statements and on and on. basically I sent everything in individual envelopes.
Now I am thinking when they ask for the form I-134 at the interview would she give them the 6 envelopes or should I have her take everything out and use a bigger Binder clip and put all of it together.
Thoughts? ideas? experience?

Also, any recent interview experience?

For K3 applicants, how much is the fee collected during the interview at Islamabad? Is it $100 or $380 as stated on the counsulate's webpage?

In the letter that my wife ot for her interview it states for her to bring $100 for the fees for each applicant and to bring exact change

Have your wife take the forms with her to the interview at the embassy. Remember to make duplicates.

Are you kidding me??? $380 for K3?? How come my wife checklist says to bring $100 (I'll make sure she has $500 when she goes) anyone else ideas?

and btw here is the letter that mentions the fee
laneysera
My Husbands K-3 interview fee was $100. Plus we had the $80 (apprx) fee for Fingerprints. The $380 sounds like the CR-1 fee that is paid to the NVC. ?? Not sure, cause we did not pursue the CR-1.

you do realize that if you apply for k-3. you still have to pay the FEES for the AOS. its the same
as applying for CR1. only diffrence is more process and more waiting. except she maybe in the states.
however, if you have approval on the I-130< CR1> reguardless if you pay k-3 fees. the embassy
will cancell your petition. so there goes the k-3 monies- they dont apply the diffrence to the CR1 at all.

380.0 is for the CR1 fees but, the fee is the same for AOS.
also note: the fees for CR1 can increase anytime the USICS wants it to increase.

Actually my I-130 got approved and states that it will stay in the US and will wait I-485 so I don't think the embassy will cancel my K3

yes they will. ours got cancelled after our interview and 10 months on AP. we got no warning.
others have had their k-3 cancelled because, k-3 is just a visa for you to come to the USA and wait
out approval of I-130.

yes, i'm in the states, anyway, i scared, lol, this just seems like a never ending trip of pain..................... here i was thinking maybe one or two more months.... and now.......... it could be eternity.

what does anyone think would be a way to bring attention to the us gov or whoever about how the overseas embassys/consulates conduct business in such a sloppy, slow haphazard fashion?
babybunny
you know I have to be honest and tell you whats happening. its not a pretty picture this process is far from rosy.

2 years AP is no joke. its getting worse because, of all the politics.

most people are on AP at least 1 year. those that have been on AP less than that ...
was because if the timing of when they filed. now its the norm to wait 1 year.
I wish there was something we could do.. the only thing that will speed this process up is if we find that dayum bin ladin azz hoe!

I wish everyone luck

Looking at people's timelines, it seems that most of the AP delays are to people who are pursuing IC/CR-1 and K1 visas. It looks like K-3 applicants are not getting stuck in AP's as often though.
Has anyone else observed this trend/ agree or have info on this?

2007 Results and AR/AP Statistics For K3

Males:

TSHAH2006 K-3 UNKNOWN
MISSINGHIM K-3 (Male) UNKNOWN
ASISUN K-3 UNKNOWN
MICHIGAN K-3 (Male) INTERVIEW ON 01, NOV,2005 VISA RECEIVED ON 02,NOV,2006 (1 Year)
SABAHK99 K-3 INTERVIEW ON 15, SEPT,2006 ON AP
SK782 K-3 (Male) INTERVIEW ON ????? VISA RECEIVED 26, JAN,2007
Chigal K-3 (Male) Interview November 2006 and on AP

Females:
Maranello K3 (female) interviewed 12/01/2006 on AP
Ali1978 K3 (female) Feb 06,2007 on AR and now April 27th on AP

Islamabad gives out AP to most but not all men and now more and more ladies are seeing this as well. The average time if you do not have a common name and male is running around 6 -12 months no matter the type of visa. Look at Michigan ,common name, above he was on AR/AP one year so all you can do is go for the interview and pray that you are sparred or if you endure this that your time is short. This is the reason that I am trying to keep the updates current and ask that all Pakistani persons fill in their timeline so it can give us a time frame on how long this process is taking. Make sure to fill in your timeline as well and take your journey one day at a time.

I would guess that an uncommon name would result in less time being stuck on AP. Also in your observation what is the avg time females are stuck on AP for? and what exactly are they looking for?

ok, All this talk about AP & AR is scaring the &^%&^% out of me. With all these discussions, should I attend the interview with my wife just to make sure they know it is legitimate. I mean, I have everything in place, my case is straight forward, good job, tax returns, all papers in place without RFE's, Allahumdullillah, and a lot of evidence of a solid marriage will be provided (phone cards, wedding pics, honeymoon pics, itineraries, etc.)

How about now, do you think AR/AP may happen? Another thing, My wife's name is not common at all, not to mention she does not have one of those unisex type of names like "Naveed" "Shafqat" "Shafeeq", etc.

Hey, If me being there absolutely prevents AP, I'm there!!!! My heart goes out to those who are going through it, But I do not want to go through it. Inshallah, I won't, but can use some feedback.

I was there... he still got A/P. But hopefully it made a difference in the notes taken. I was very glad to be there and experience the interview and support him. Plus I got to spend time with him smile.gif.

I do believe the majority of K-3 VJ'ers attend the interview alone.

what a pain.. now she has to fish through those envelopes..
they fire questions at you fast. then they want documents rather quickly.
they are very impatient people!!!

what I did to make life easy for my husband was .
I got plastic paper protecters/ report.
I placed them in 3 ring binder and used lables that can be clearly read..
this was easy for him.. and also this was the same thing I did for my interview
with USICS.

btw, the CO., will not OPEN the envelopes. they dont have time to fool with that..
it will actully frustrate the CO.. i would strongly recommend the plastic protectors.
even them she can Quickly remove the document. dont make it more of a hassle for her. she

yeah..
one thing about this process is TIME!!! the longer things take the better your case!!
thats why I have NOT done anything such as file a writ on our case. although we have been on
AP/AR 2 years!!!!! this is because, its better to wait as long as you can. Then you have a stronger case!!!

now ...
in order to get attention to your case there are steps. you can at some point request help from
the Ombudsman. but, that will require the following:

1.. extensive AP/AR < over 1 year > at least.
2. basicly monthly documents from your congressman. < copies that have been saved >
because, you have to establish that you maintained constant communicaton from your congressman.
3. then you would gather all the letters from the embassy, congressman, sentor. then submit them
to the ombudsman..

the ombudsman will repond a year later. all requests for assistance of the ombudsman must be in
writing. its all about TIME!!!

allow 21 days from the time NVC sent your case. because, the embassy has to match

AP has to do with several factors not just the name. but, has to do with a few of the following:

1. place of birth
2. education - < has the person studied technoligy for example >
3. a persons skill < do the person has knowledge of chemicals >
4. places the person has traveled or lived..

MY wife will have k-3 visa interview sometime may be in couple of months since NVC sent they are forwarding case in Islamabad but Islamabad said they did not get the case yet.

Data Sheet a USC can attend the interview but it depends on the interviewer. Laney attended her husband's interview and a few men have went over to be with their wives. Most are allowed to go to the window and show their presence but the interviewer will direct all or almost all questions to the person that has the interview. I do not know of them not allowing anyone to not attend but the participation level is at a minumum. You will have to show your ID and tell them at the gate your with your spouse and then you can gain entrance with your wife.

I called NVC and spoke to a person she said they still have our case at NVC and need about 2 to 4 week to process it and then will send it to Islamabad.
Well then why they send me letter on May 3rd that "within a week the petition will be forwarded to visa-issung post overseas".
What NVC does on case?

I called NVC and spoke to a person she said they still have our case at NVC and need about 2 to 4 week to process it and then will send it to Islamabad.
Well then why they send me letter on May 3rd that "within a week the petition will be forwarded to visa-issung post overseas".
What NVC does on case?

Usually they send the cases within days. What they are telling you is a canned response on how long it will take to complete and forward to Islamabad. NVC double checks the files for accuracy and does run some security checks.

Is there any faster way to bring your spouse here to USA. I was married last year in June and after I came back to USA, I filed I-130 for her. Her interview is in June this year. I have seen some people getting interviews within few months after filing. Did they do anything different than me. Just curious if there was a faster way which I didnt follow. And also if some one can clearify what is this CR-1 and K-3 etc.

Thanks

But the security check from NVC would waive the AP/AR from the embassy that a name has already been checked, or embassy does its own?
