Yeah, I have called DOS 2 times and my fiance has called the embassy once. We always get the same answer: your case is still under administrative review. I called DOS the friday before last and the lady who answered the phone told me try calling back every two weeks or so. I am again going to try calling them today or tomorrow. I doubt that I will get a good news, but for some reason just talking to them makes me feel better lol.
And sorry about not making contributions to this forum very often, but I do check the new posts every morning. And one thing ... I KNOW this is horribly frustrating especially for those of you waiting for a long longgg time ... but guys .. lets try to be more positive =) Sometimes I read some of the posts and I spend the rest of the day in depression. Inshallah we will all get to meet our loved ones soon! I will update you guys after I talk to DOS today or tomorrow.

Hello
I am new to this forum. I have been reading this forum for some time and I appreciate the information people are putting here for reference. My question is, is there any AP/AR stuff for females also or just for men. And do they issue the visa on the interview day, if not, then how long does it take to receive it. I filed I-130 last year in July and the interview now is in June.
Thanks

I am new to this forum. I have been reading this forum for some time and I appreciate the information people are putting here for reference. My question is, is there any AP/AR stuff for females also or just for men. All applicants are getting AR/AP now and sex does not matter. I know males with common names are the ones that endure the longer APs.
And do they issue the visa on the interview day, if not, then how long does it take to receive it. I filed I-130 last year in July and the interview now is in June.
Islamabad stopped issuing same day last year -- all are now sent via a courrier. Good luck on the upcoming interview.

I am guessing it is female but did not want to post the wrong information. And please feel free to join in and keep us posted on your interview as well.

My wife received her interview letter today and the interview date is July 31st. However, the American Embassy did not send any interview letter for my daughter. The Embassy in fact returned all documents that we had sent for my daughter.
We had sent both cases together and as per instructions of American Express, both cases were sent in one file/binder as a family case. Additionally, my wife's interview letter does not specify anything about my daughter.
I am curious to know if this is normal for all family cases or the Embassy has forgotten to even open my daughter's documents. Any experiences, ideas?
Sufi
Sufi,
I sent you a message as well, but it would be great if you can share your time lines especially forms and stuff needed after I-130 for your wife and daughter. Thanks!

Thanks Khurram.. these forms such as DS-156, DS-157. Will they be provided to my wife with this checklist or should i find them online and have her print them out?
Once again thanks for the checklist, it really helps us be prepared for her interview... now I'm just waiting like many others to have our forms sent to the NVC.

Few Facts
--The JFK air train information was for my wife as PIA has cancled its Lahore-Houston operation. SO she has to go Houston from JFK via EWR
--I have not received VISA yet. But in great depression because i feel myself that i have ridden on TWO BOATS. I feel that one person must decide his/her professional carrier till the age of 30. and i have already crossed it. I dont know what will happen with me with respect to my profession as its too late to start carrier.
--My case status is AP. I have resubmitted fresh Medical and Police report on Feb 12. and till from that time no visa in sight.
--I heard that a person is on AP for 4 years of period. Such information is taking my hopes to an end.
Dude
I feel the same way. I am older than you! my professional career has ended but, I gained a new professional career. dont stress over your career choices in the USA you will have alot of options. you can be 50 years old and start a new career.

right now pull yourself out of the depression. I know you can do it.
as far as the AP. you are not alone in that!!! you know this naveed.
Atif and salmon are still on AP too.. I think Salmon has been waiting as long as you.
hang in there.

W salam,
Yes AE4EVER, things are pretty good except that hanging sword of AP that is all the time on me. I called DOS yesterday and spoke with the viss specialist. She has told me that case in pending and it can take from 2 months to one year, however, the average timing is 3-4 months.

The fact remains ALL men ages 16 and up. will be placed on AP/AR.
The only hope is that the AP/AR is speedy. which in most cases is 6 months - 1 year.
but, thats becoming few and far between. most people now are on AP for 9 months and endless. There are too many men waiting over one year. in naveed. salmon and our cases we all have been waiting over 2 years. There is nothing anyone can do. everyones hands are tied.
I wish we all had a deadline. when the embassy has to give us a approval and denial. all I can see is they can keep our lives on "HOLD" for as long as they want
Right now I am feeling like I am in HELL as most of those on AP/AR feel.
btw, AR is when the embassy gets the security clearances and decides to sit on their azz and not process a dayum thing.

Hey all,
I had a quick question... My husbands case was sent to Islamabad in Jan, and his interview is in JULY 25, 2007. When i filed his case i was required to attach a copy of tax returns for the year 2003, 2004, and 2005. However, NVC found some mistakes in my affadavit of support but didnt want to delay the case so they forewaded it anyway and told me to fill out a new form correctly and give it to my husband to take it with him to the interview. They didnt tell me to attach anything else, since all the original documents were sent to Islamadad.
WILL I NEED TO SEND A COPY OF TAX RETURNS FOR THE YEAR 2006????? I e-mailed the embassy, but they werent clear at responding they said "If NVC advised you to do something then we suggest you do it"... thats it..
ANY ADVICE ANYONE???
Thanks...

XStramgerX2007,
I know the embassy usually asks for updated information when they do the interviews. I personally would send updated information to my husband and he can take in hand to the embassy/consulate. That way at the time of interview if they ask for it they will have it in hand and it will not cause any more delays in the processing of your case.

Any suggestions? My job has been changed after I sent the affidavit of support form (I-864) to NVC. Do I need to fill a new form and send to the embassy alongwith the pay stubs (or letter from company) or send to my wife so she can take with her to the embassy or just stick to the one that I sent couple of months ago and dont mention my new job. Because I dont want the process to get delayed by me sending new documents. Has this happened to anyone, ???

On April 18, 2007 I got the email from USCIS that my parents' I-130 have been approved, but I havent got the NOA2 yet in a mail. Is it normal, or the approval notices have been lost in a mail. I have seen these files were .
touched again on 19, what is that mean?

it means they looked at the case. could mean they updated something or made a decison.
you will get the notice in the mail. you have to understand USICS. NVC and Embassy
are slow as hell. sometimes it can take 3 weeks for them to get off their azz. except for the embassy
they dont do chit at all.

On 12/27/06, I got I-129F and I-130 approved. I pursued I-129F as it is quicker. My wife had an interview and she is on A, now I am thinking while she is on AP, should I start to follow I-130 too or just stick with I-129F.

Ali they have changed the way that they process the I-130 since I brought over my husband. I understand it must have an extra fee paid and moved from I think the NVC to the embassy/consulate? I would read over the updates and see if this is something you wish to persue? I know the K3 is faster and you are in the final stages now and do you wish for her to adjust status stateside? Sorry I could not answer it more fully for you. QUOTE(PAIN07 @ May 3 2007, 02:00 PM)

you have to keep persuing I -130< Cr1 >. because, the I-129f is basicly a DEAD issue anyways. reguardless if she interview for the I-129 and is placed on Admin processing. thats proble why she is placed on AP because, she needs to follow through with the CR1 < I-130 >. Thats what happend to our case.
when you say you should follow through with I-130 the only thing you are avoiding is paying the fees.
but, you still have to pay the fees one way or the other. its alot easier in the long run to come on
CR1 than K-3 visa. beause, k-3 visas once in the USA has alot of drama and waiting. where as Cr1 dont have any waiting surrounding once she arrives here.
IR1.< 10 year visa > is by far better because, you dont have to AOS or Remove condtions.

I forgot to add..
once she clears AP. they will issue her the CR1 instead of K-3. but, you have to follow through.
