You might want to send an email to the embassy asking them that.....when it comes to the Islamabad embassy you can never be sure so it would be better to hear it from them

Question: I sent an email to embassy inquiring about whether an interview date has been set or a package has been sent. They didn't respond to that email, even though they responded to other emails pretty fast. Why it could be? Is it something to worry about?

I had the same thing happen. They never responded until they were ready to set the date and then they sent the letter to my husband. I never got any response from my emails. I would email them again and see if you get any results and if you do not try again in a week. Good luck on getting your date and packet.

no she has not recieved anything yet, they gave her token only. she calls AMEX everyday, they tell her its not here yet. There were a few ladies with her at the embassy who also had interviews. I belive my wife said there were 6 ladies from karachi and one from lahore. They told the karachi girls that you would get visa via amex. for lahore lady they told her come back in the afternoon and we will give you the passport back with visa.

I talked to her today and she said one of the girls from karachi got the passport today from amex, she was k1 visa. so the rest are still waiting.

I received email from embassy stating my wife's interview has been scheduled for Oct. 13th. INSHA ALLAH.
Here is something interesting I noticed about k3 interviews:

hafiz: 09/01/06 - Friday.
another member: 09/22/06 - Friday.
nasir: 09/29/06 - Friday.
ae4ever: 10-13-06 - Friday.


Looks like if you are K3, you will interview on a Friday!!!!!!!!!! No problem, Ba Barkat din hai .

Usually visa package along with passport arrives within week but don’t worry inshallah she will receive the package shortly.

A little inside for you of you cool people dealing with Islamabad. Actually its everyone stuck in the security clearance process.. Right now the DOS is processing clearances cases filed on or about early June.. So if if you were interviewed after that please sit back and relax! We have a while before our clearances are processed!

she is going for CR1 visa and btw I called the embassy the rep told me user her passport name, meaning married name.

Alhamudlillah the Embassy moved my husband's interview from Jan 2 to october 6th!!!!!!!!! Less than a month away now, im sooo thankful to 'Allah, and so thankful to you all here who gave me the great Idea to email the embassy and request this , thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou!

October 6th, OMG , i can't believe it! and my birthday is only three days after, inshAllah everything will go smoothly for my husband, Aamin!

ok, whew, i need to calm down.. and ask this question now....our wedding aniversary, the civil one, is november 1st, soooooooooooooo, what effect is this gona have, will the embassy approve my husband for a CR1 now ,(inshAllah he will be approved) and then the AP is gonna take place, and i am pretty much sure that it will take longer and we would be married for 2 years before he would come to USA, sooo, my question is that at his POE will they change his visa from a CR1 to an IR1??????

This is great news! Congrats on getting a closer date and wishing you all the best on the remainder of your journey. At the time of POE it should be an IR1 but I do know of one case that they did a CR1 and the wife contacted NVC and explained the error. The gentleman had to send in his CR1 and some copies and they reissued the card to reflect IR status.

Anyway, i did want to ask though that does it matter that i have never changed my name on my passport? i mean, i changed my name on my driver's license, on my SS card and every where else, just not my passport, because i was always needing it with me and didn't have time to change it...doesn't it cost like 60$ to change it? ...anyway i was just curious to know if i "have " to change it or not ...thankyou. you dont need to change your name- for him to get a visa.
you only need to make sure your IDs all match PRIOR to travel.
other wise you will be stuck.

Congratulations on getting the earlier interview date. Now these next few months can be devoted to the AP/AR nonsense instead of waiting on an interview. My husband had his medical exam for the K-3 but they only required a normal physical I believe. For your husband's exam I am sure he will be getting a physical plus all of the required vaccinations and an AIDS test I guess.

LOL, here is what happens...

Your husband's exam will be pretty comprehensive since this is for the I-130. He'll be getting a whole slew of vaccinations like hepatitis, etc. He should get a complete list of the vaccinations with his interview date letter. My husband told me that they took some blood, took x-rays, did a bone density exam, eye exam, and checked out his complete body to make sure everything looked ok. They'll probably ask if he's had any operations, been in any fights, and probably some more things. They want to make sure that overall he's fairly healthy. Hope this info helps.

Are you referring to me? If so, my husband also had his K-3 interview on 9/1. He said it seemed really promising. He had an american lady interviewer and she was laughing with him and she only wanted to see basic things mainly my tax returns I think. Then she said it would take 15 days- 2months to get back to him and to call them back if he didn't hear back in 45 days or so. I talked to a few of my relatives and friends who went through this and they all said to go with the highest number of days in the range given in the time line from the interviewer. So Inshallah, he should get that passport back with the visa in 2 months if what they say is true otherwise I guess I'll have to go back and visit him cause in December will be our 1 year anniversary. Time sure flies when you're having fun

Hello Hafiz I have been on the go this past week. My kids were sick and I was playing nurse/dr/mom LOL. I have been learning some more urdu. My skills are limited and with my southern accent it keeps the family and friends roflol. But I am trying and it is getting better. I had to run errands all day yesterday and did not get to come back after I replied to the one post so sorry to be late in replying to you.

One thing I have been thinking in past few days is that we, the members of this thread, represent a very, very small portion of all the people going through this immigration process. This process is complicated but this site makes it alot easier. I know people who are in this process and don't know where to get information from. So, I encourage all of you to tell everyone you know about this site. No I won't get a commission from ewok but if people get the right info. at the right time, that will be a great help to them. I get so upset when I see people going to lawyers to get just the basic information and paying heavy fees. Please help them help themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just one more thing RKhalid!!!!!!!! You have made a mistake in your timeline data and posted an interview date for 2007 . Please correct it as it has made the average incorrect as well.

Now the problem is that She applied for visit visa for period of Nov 28 to December 20

BUT

She got visa from Sep 05 to Dec -04

Now what we should do? Dont know what is solution for getting a right visa date?

Fooki I would email the embassy and tell them that your wife will be in Pakistan on such and such date and see if they can get you any date that falls in that timeline. Inform them that she will have to leave and you are wishing her to be with you at the time of your interview for moral support. It is worth a try and wishing you the best of luck on getting your date changed.

I would pray that they issue visa on the same day, I was wondering though ( i know it's rare for the men to get a visa the same day) that if he got visa the same day, in october, could he wait till after our 2nd anniversary to come to usa? so that he could be issued an IR1 at POE?
That is, if he bypasses AR, which i highly doubt it, but Allah is the one who decides.

O yeah, and the thing you said about so many people paying for lawyers or making mistakes on simple things that could be answered here, yeah, me and rashid are two of those people! Yeah, they were weird with my visit visa too, i applied for 6 months and they gave me a five year multiple visit visa to pakistan....weird...but like mary said, i would email the embassy in Islamabad , sometimes they really do help you out, they helped us out...also did you try contacting the pakistani embassy that issued the visit visa? maybe they would let your wife mail her passport there and give her the right time frame visa that you wanted....this is all just me talking though, i dont know for sure, but wouldn't hurt to ask.

I just wanted to post that my husband did his medical today in Islamabad and he said it went very well , it was a pleasant experience for him, he said it was the best experience of patient service that he has ever had Alhamdulillah. He will get his results in two days, inshAllah.

One question for you: When Islamabad changes the interview date, do they send another appointment letter to the applicant? I mean does the applicant have to wait for the next letter to come home with new date on it or they are just directed to take old letter with them on the new date?

yes u will get another letter through TCS. I got it too!
