Hi

1) Embassy letter is NOT required
2) Police Certificate can be obtained in 2days period. How? Just manage all the required signatures by taking the application manually to all concerned.

Brother you will have enough time to get this letter from police. (United States embassy at Islamabad knows this situation so don’t worry) plus in Pakistan everything is possible inshallah it wont be a problem.

I got a letter from the embassy but, the same old doo doos

been on AP/AR for over 4 MONTHS NOW!!!

129 days toal so far since we've been on AP/AR.


i call DOS 4 times a week, every week, and get the same response

'your husband is still undergoing security checks, there is no more background information we can give at this time'

WTF!!

i ask them the following questions every time:

- what is the status of case?
- has the cable been sent to embassy?
- what/how many security checks are pending?
- which checks has he passed?
- i am his wife, why can't you look at you other screens and look for useful info to give me?

i've spoken to all the different operators, barbara, rose, etc and they all give me the same info:

i don't know...... i can't give you that information........we don't have that information now....


are there any other questions i can ask? have you all been getting the same responses from DOS when you call up and ask about your cases????

Molly if he is in AP that is all they will tell you. My husband was in AP for 5 months and I called DOS weekly and they always It was always a canned response like this with calls to DOS or if the embassy responded to my emails. Hang in there and hopefully not much longer and his case will be cleared.

I think it's about time to start pointing out to the world the hardcore discrimination that the USCIS is displaying. If AP/AR only took 1-2 months, it's not so bad. If it's taking too long, there's something up (aka they are trying to stop as many Muslims to come into the country as possible).

man i think v cant do anthing abt it , cuz a counslar officer is outside the jurisdictions of US, and the sole decision is made by him . p.s thts wat i think n read so far, plus the US law has made it clear to have safe borders, but its just an excuse, its juss so political they makin it critical for pakis

That can't possibly be correct, how is a consular officer who is from the United States of America originally not under the jurisdiction of US law? So, your saying if a consular officer decided to go mad and kill every man who he denied a visa to, the US couldn't do anything to him? (bad example I guess ).

From my understanding, the USCIS is responsible for all aspects of immigration even if the file is in another department (aka DOS). So, you would never sue DOS, instead you would sue USCIS.

There are ways to address concern.
1.. though our congressman , sentator
2. our voices can be heard though ombudsman.
3. the old trusted " writ"

its not a quick fix by any means.
the bottom line the longer you WAIT the louder your voice becomes.
I think I can scream louder than most because we have been on AP/AR
approaching a year.
my attorney said WAIT. see if we are still on it come FEB 2nd 2007.

What is the significance of that date? Just wondering.

Hope all are doing well!
I emailed embassy again last night and wondered if there was any earlier date available.
They now have finally agreed to give me a shot and asked me to send a signed written request with valid reasons for an early date. What could these reasons be?
Please help me out here. I hope this means they will try to change the date.

i requested an earlier date because of my wife's medical condition! Worked out and the embassy gave me a date two days after I called! It was awesome! Though I did have to provide a letter from my Wife's physcian pretaining to her medical problems!

i am just requesting since i am living her alone-all my family and everybody is back home
what could be valid reasons?

I suggest 3 things...

1.. check the waiver forum see if any of those things apply for you. I know you dont need a waiver
but its just for ideas. not all reasons have to be medical..
2.. talk to your attorney for ideas..
3.. talk to you congressman and/ or sentator for ideas.

if u pay the fee Cr1 will take over the K3, i would suggest if u want to pursue K3 not to send in any paper work to embassy...
