Can anyone post a sample size of the correct sized barcode. The one that I replaced in MS word was a lot smaller. Does this sound familiar?? helpsmilie.gif Thanks.

Woke up this morning and was reading some posts where other people were having the same problems. The barcode I generated is smaller than the sample. Does anyone know if this will be a problem with the NVC? Should I correct it?

You can play with resize to match. I noticed that my barcode for the AoS Bill that I sent via James' shortcut was actually a little larger than the one I eventually received from the NVC. It was still processed fine. I think that as long as the symbology is correct, it will scan in correctly. I wish I had access to some barcode scanners at my last job. I could confirm it while creating random sizes.

Also make sure you have the NVC case number on there. I can't see why they can't process it manually via the case number if needed.

Thanx Vylex. With the I-864 are copies ok to send them or do they want originals? And is the Authorization for release of federal tax data necessary???

I suggest you only send copies of the tax returns and W-2s or tax transcripts with the I-864. Don't send original documents.

Also, the Authorization for release of tax data is no longer needed.

I agree with Mononoke, send photocopies only (Tax return, W-2s, etc). I am keeping the originals and giving it to my wife come interview time if they need to verify it.

Also, if you are only going to petition your spouse AND will only need income to show proof, use the I-864EZ form. It's SO much simpler to fill out.

As for the tax release form, I'll let you know next week. I am expecting the mailed I-864 instruction packet by then (crosses finger). I was going to use James' shortcut but since I am also waiting for the IV Bill, I won't really save any more time if I send it ahead.

Good Luck!

I'm starting to think that it's a good thing to wait for the I-864 since it doesn't affect the DS-230. I think that's what threw me off as far as getting the automated message to say that the DS-230 has been generated. I don't know... dry.gif
