Oi.
Any special tips you can give to me to help the embassy in Sao Paulo grant a tourist visa for my step-daughter and father-in-law?
They want to visit my husband and I in America. I know it can be tough, so I was just wondering if anybody has had luck and if there is anything I can do to help them.
My husband is currently removing conditions.
Thanks,
alix
My mom got her tourist visa to come visit me here, even before I had my greencard. My husband wrote a letter, addressed to the consular officer, saying it would be very important that my mother could come and visit and that we would be totally responsible for her during her stay. She showed them the letter (they were giving her a hard time!) and then they issued the visa. It's not guaranteed, but it doesn't hurt either. I also have a friend who did that for her mom to come for her wedding and she got the visa as well. If you are being honest and show that they intend to return to Brazil, then I don't see why they'll have trouble getting a visa. Write the letter though...it might help.

Also, strong ties to Brazil is a BIG, HUGE, help.

Thank you very much.
Alix, did your husband mail the letter? or did your mãe bring it with her?
Obrigada

Hi!

Sorry for taking so long to write back! We mailed it to my mom and she brought it with her. Actually I think we faxed it to her.
