Does anyone have any knowledge of this. I am so sad these days I really miss my love and am trying to understand anything I can. Best wishes to all of you on this journey too.

My husband's application was in AP/AR for over a year and as far as we knew, it never left the Consulate's office. If it did we were never notified. We never received a letter or anything. I would send an email every couple of months and that is how we found out he was in AP/AR.

This whole process can definitely be maddening! mad.gif

I have seen others here that this has happened too. I'm not sure anyone knows truly why but I have heard that sometimes Cairo does their own investigating before sending the case to DOS.

Have you call DOS and ask if they started the security checks.. ???

I don't have a lot faith in DOS at all. no0pb.gif Too many contraindication from them. I'm not sure why some cases say in Cairo and some don't. I've seen some cases stay in Cairo and others go back to Washington and have the same length of AR. I actually got more information from Cairo than I ever did from DOS regarding his case. AR sucks and I wish all of ya would get out from it soon. good.gif

I have called DOS twice but all they will tell me is that it is in adminstative processing in cairo, that they are doing the checks and it has never come to them. sad.gif
I just feel so hopless and helpless today my dreams feel a million years away and life just feels on hold crying.gif
It's just a hard day I pray I will gather some strength and feel hope again.

Don't feel bad i am in the same situation as you. My fiance's case never made it to washington either. DOS informed me that Cairo was doing the checks there. Sometimes this happens why i have no idea. DOS is no help though if you call them they will not give you accurate info. I know. Just email the Embassy and as usual they will probably send you the famous message it si under A/P all you can do is wait. Don't get discouraged you all made it this far so that is good believe me! Its just getting through security checks!! Everything will be fine you will see. Just try and give it a little more time.

I can totally empathize with your situation. My husband was given form 221g at the end of his interview saying that his case needed AP. He was told by the CO that after 2 months they would call him and he would come back to the consulate. His interview was June 5th so it hasn't been 2 months quite yet. But I've called DOS twice only to hear that our case is still at the embassy. Other people I know were told that they would have security checks done in Washington. I'm pretty sure the reason for the checks for my husband is because of his name........Mohammed. I'm just hoping the embassy does some checks and then finally sends it to Washington. I hope we all get thru this quickly.

The 221g that is issued showing security checks in Washington always seems to be for the K visas and since you are filing for the Cr1 maybe th security checks are done a bit differently since your husband will walk intot he US with the AOS already completed? I am just guessig here.

Good luck and I hope you hear somethign soon.

Thanks good.gif That's kind of what I was thinking too. I don't see too many people on here that have done the CR1 visa so it's difficult for me to compare.

Thanks again
