We just filled our 1-129f, can anyone tell how long it really takes until we can get her in the USA, with visa in hand, and why it seems to take such long time ?

Just go to the Immigration Timelines at the top of the page, change the middle scroll down box to "China", and then follow along with all the others going through the process in China. The best way to get the fastest approval is to get all the paperwork you will need filled out now and get the medical and police checks ahead of time. The do have to be semi-current so don't get them to early. You can ask the embassy in China how far in advance you can get the medical and police checks. Try this link, it might help. Ken

It took me 5 1/2 months from the initial filing to visa approval. Some take less time and many take longer. I had all my paperwork filled out ahead of time for the whole process and submitted it before receiving Packet 3 and 4. Hope it helps.
