Jen and Shawn
Hello all,

We just got IR-1 visa approved last week JUlY 10, 2007. I am wondering how long will it take for the NVC to receive this file. Then what happens?

My husband is in Canada and I live here in the US. We have been apart for 3 + years. crying.gif Is there anyone else who is suffering like me? Please

explain your experience through this immigration process. Thanks helpsmilie.gif

You mean the I-130 was approved by USCIS and sent to NVC? Or you had a visa interview and your IR-1 visa was approved?

Please be careful of the wording of your question. You I-130 petition was approved not your visa. The visa could only be approved at the Embassy stage not USCIS. Also it would be very easier to assist if you updated your timeline or add the info in your signature.

It will take anywhere from 2-4 wks for NVC to recv your approved I-130 petition. Try calling them @ 603-334-0700 next wk.

Jen and Shawn,
Congrats on receiving your NOA2 for your IR1 visa. I am also going the IR1 route with my husband in Canada. Please check out the Canada forum (found in the regional discussion section). There are some other people who are going for the CR1/IR1 visa in Montreal...http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=93 Also, read up on the James' Shortcut found here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117

All the best!
