Just wanted to clarify how is the interview setup by the Moscow embassy - I spoke with Dept of State and the operator told me that NVC has electronically transimitted the case to Moscow embassy. The papers are not there yet physically. Then she mentioned that once embassy has the papers, they will send out packet 3 to beneficiary. Then beneficiary has to send back checklist indicating what papers she has and depending on this they would schedule an interview date.
Is the above correct?

I think that in the case of Moscow, they send just one packet and schedule the interview without asking for anything to be sent back.

Interview dates are actually set by the state dept before it even goes to Moscow. There is no packet 3 in Moscow. They combine packet 3 & 4 and there is nothing to return. She only has to show up at the embassy on the date she gets with everything ready. They are scheduled now through mid Sept so I would expect your interview date to be around the end of September.

Sad that not even the State Department knows what's going on in Moscow. Further proof that if you read up on the Russia Forum here on VJ, you'll be in much better shape than if you try calling a govt. agency.

They sent my wife her packet but it never arrived. They scheduled the interview while the packet was ostensibly in transit.
In response to my query, they say that everything she needs to do is posted on their website. I hope that is true!

I get the same message when I call the state dept. that the Moscow embassy has received my "electronic file" but not the actual file....(what does that mean anyway? I mean why do they even have an actual file if they have an electric one? haha) I think they just make things up when you call. I am just gonna call every day until I get a guy or girl who can tie there own shoes. once that happens I will look at is as progress. Also, look at turbo guys time line, his case left the nvc just a few days before yours and he already has his interview scheduled. so it gives you an idea at least.

Call the State Dept. 202-663-1225. They schedule the interview. You will know the interview date before the Embassy will. The embassy website does not update every week like they claim.

We have not received our packet yet and our interview is 3 days ahead of yours. I really did not expect it quite yet and we do have to count on her mother letting us know it arrived since we are together elsewhere.
Yes, I think everything is on the website. That should not be a problem. I believe there is one form she needs to fill out that could be downloaded and printed otherwise it is mostly telling her what to bring and what to do.

Right after I made the last post I got word that our packet just arrived. If you have not received yours it should be coming soon.
I guess one of the good things about going through this for the second time is that you are a little less stressed and know more what to expect. Best thing to do is just not worry and try to cover your bases as well as you can.
