http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/e-i-765.htmIt appears to be true. It says right there in black and white that K-1 AOS applicants can e-file for the EAD.
Has anyone tried this?

Didn't know you couldn't before. I just thought people didn't do it because they had to send in the I-485 anyway, and both apps should be in the same package...

If it is allowed then what do you think is the reasoning/purpose behind it? Just nonsense?

I wasn't aware of it, but I'm all for it! Will make things a little easier when/if my fiance ever gets to go back home with me!

You still need to have submitted your AOS form, so why not do both.

Are there any advantages to e-filing? Does it make them move any quicker? USCIS seems pretty slow with online things, such as updating case status..

Please remember that when your fiance/fiancee files for EAD with the AOS, they are no longer filing as K1s but rather as AOS applicants. If they apply as K1s they will only be given 90-day EADs which expires together with their 1-94.
