Hello everyone,

I have filed for the K-1 visa. My fiance has an interview on Aug 1, which is the same day that our approval notice expires. This site has been wonderful in helping me to figure out what needs to be completed. I appreciate everyone writing their own experiences. I am sending more information than required. Heck, we even have a wedding website. Emotionally this process has been taxing. I appreciate any advice or tricks you have learned that helped you deal with the Lagos office. I wish everyone a happy and easy visa process. It is very hard being away from the one you love!

My husband is from Lagos as well. What we did was compile a notebook with all our emails, phone bills letters and cards sent thru the mail. We had all our financial information such as job letter, bank letter and we made sure that everything was neat and in order and my husband interview was only 5 minutes. Just be organized and honest and he will have a successful interview.

Welcome to VJ and good luck on the interview. We have filed a K1 and our interview is scheduled for September 6. Are you going to be present for the interview? I am not, but will go back for a 2nd interview if one is scheduled. I have gathered all the required documents and will send them in the next few weeks. Good luck!
