Hey everyone, I haven't been on VJ recently because things have been going pretty smoothly for us. Luckily the embassy moves quickly. Ombeni received packet 3 at the end of June, and now his interview is in a week and a half! I'm starting to get really really nervous... I'm starting to remind myself of how my mother was when I was studying in Tanzania. I'm worried about everything.

He's travelling to Dar es Salaam tomorrow, and his medical exam is on Tuesday. What if his bus crashes, or his passport gets stolen, or he finds out he has drug-resistant TB, or he gets eaten by a pack of rabid goats????? And then, the interview. I'm primarily worried about not being a good enough sponsor... I make plenty of money, but have only had a real job since April, since I was in college before that. Besides that, I also noticed that most of the pictures of us together look kind of staged (except for one in which I look pretty tipsy). And two months ago I had sent him more pictures to take to the interview, but of course that package has yet to arrive in his PO Box.

Satifu has been very kind, and she reassured me that the interviewer is not evil and wants to be able to give people visas, so I just need to take a chill pill and hurry up and wait. smile.gif

you guys are going to be fine! i am sooo excited for you two. just keep praying/meditating (or whatever your faith may be) and you will be fine. wow, mail is slow in tanzania! the longest it ever takes for nana to get something is 2 weeks max! and that is over the course of the past 3.5 years...but anyhow, perhaps you could email him the photos and he could print them out? just a suggestion.

I AM EXCITED FOR YOU! STAY STRONG!!!

Congratulations on getting the interview and best wishes to Ombeni during the interview. I am sure that everything will be fine. good.gif

LOL, I know what you mean about the nervousness...you aren't the only one who has come up with crazy "what ifs". blink.gif My interview is in a day and a half and I haven't been able to sleep for about a month now. Anyway, I have been following your case and I'm really really excited for you two. Congratulations on getting this far and I look forward to reading about your approval! good.gif
