Hi to the experts,

We need your opinion what would be the appropriate answer to question 32 of Form DS-156.

My fiancee has already a sample DS-156 and we have different interpretations as to how to answer question No. 32 to wit:

"DO YOU INTEND TO WORK IN THE U.S. ? YES NO (If yes, give the name and complete address of U.S. Employer)"

My fiancee definitely has the intention to work here after we have travelled and settled down AFTER the wedding

SHE SAYS : she must answer YES and just write WITH WORK AUTHORIZATION EMPLOYER UNKNOWN , she got this answer from a sample DS-156 form already filled up from this website. She believes the question goes beyond the 90 day period given to get married and is actually a FUTURE INTENTION after getting married. She also feels she must answer the same if during the interview she will be asked this question.

HE SAYS ( me innocent.gif ) : she must answer NO because this form is a Visa application form covering the 90 day period after her arriveal here in the U.S and definitely she will not work during that time but the sole intention is to get married within that given period.

I need some good ideas here, my Filipina fiancee is a good lawyer so I better have a very good answer to convince her of my stand whistling.gif

Thank you very much

We put "yes" and wrote, with employment authorization, employer unknown.

Hello,
My Fiance put "pending visa approval..Yes..."
This lets the interviewer know that you are not jumping the gun by asssuming you will be approved, but it does state that should she be approved she plans to work so as not to be a burdon upon anyone.
Good Luck
Haole
