How long does it take to get the letter from the NVC saying they received your petition and have forwarded it on to the embassy? I called a while ago and I was told they received and I got my new case#, but haven't heard anything from anyone since then.
MEDSHE20
It took about a week before I received mine.

We never received a letter from NVC, we got the State department case number on the phone, and by emailing NVC, and found out that our case was forwarded to the consulate by calling NVC.

The letter from NVC is not required for anything other than to be notified that the case was sent to the consulate, so I did not fuss about not receiving the letter.

Hmm, if that's the case, it looks like I won't won't be getting a letter from them either. You got the NVC letter the day after your NOA2? It took nearly three weeks for my petition to even be sent to the NVC from the CSC. How did you find out when Montreal actually received it, and not just the fact that NVC sent it?

Call the DOS at 202.663.1225 Then press 1, then press 5, then press 0. Then ask, they can tell you if and when the consulate received the case, and can tell you when they sent out P3, and later P4.

You will need the NVC Case number, and DOB of the benificiary.

Oh, I didn't know I could still get information like that from them for a K1. I thought once they transfered it to the consulate, I'd have to deal with contacting the consulate directly.

When asking about Packet 3 and/or 4, do you actually use the terms "Packet 3" and "Packet 4," or are those VJ terms that the DoS Operators won't know?
