hello,

Our k1 visa is scheduled to be on the 12th of this month. We have everything except my fiance's birth cert., which he had to get because he has never had one. the interview is in KL, Malaysia, but he is from bangladesh, so his family had to send him the birth cert. It is unfortuanitly not going to be here by the 12th,(even first class). My question is do you think the embassy will allow us to reschedule??? helpsmilie.gif We are so worried. Any thoughts, or advice would greatly be appreciated!

Thank you.

Ppl have rescheduled before.. Just depends on the consulate though how much they'll push back the interview date

You should contact them immediately and tell them the issue/concern you have

Generally you are allowed to reschedule the interview up to two times without a problem.

The other option would be to go ahead with the interview. You would get a 221-G for the birth certificate and once you provided that your visa would be issued.

You probably could have used something like DHL and had it there in time.

I would go with turbo's advise, but also contact the Embassy/Consulate as soon as possible and talk them through your concerns. they are always the best source of information! Some folks have been granted the visa after the missing documents reach the consular post.
Good luck on that interview,L.
