Stefanie

Hey there,

It's finally time for me to submit my I-751. smile.gif I have been gathering all the paperwork. But I have got one question. My husband and I are living overseas on Military orders. There are special instruction for getting your fingerprints done since you can't just fly over to the USA to the nearest immigration office. I got my fingerprint card today and am wondering if I still have to pay the biometrics fee or if that is waived by having this card.

And another short questions, I am thinking about flying to the USA around Christmas to visit my in-laws. My 10-year Greencard most likely won't be approved by then. Can I still fly, let's say with the NOA1 and the Greencard?

Thanks in advance.

You will get an NOA in the mail after they receive your I-751 application, which extends the validity of your GC for one year, with travel and work authorization.

All you will need is that NOA and your expired GC to travel until your 10-yr GC is approved.

Seems, i was mistaken,....

I found this on the actual instructions to the i-751,..

NOTE: If you or your spouse are currently serving with oremployed by the U.S. Government, either in a civilian ormilitary capacity and assigned outside the United States, mailyour petition to the USCIS Service Center having jurisdictionover your residence of record in the United States. Include acopy of the U.S. Government orders assigning you and yourspouse abroad.

What Is the Fee?

The fee for this petition is $205.00.

The fee for biometric services is $70.00.

You may submit one check or money order for both thepetition and biometric services, for a total of $275.00.NOTE: Each conditional resident dependent, eligible to be included on the principal applicant's Form I-751 and listed under Part 5 of Form I-751, is required to submit an additional biometric services fee of $70, including dependents residing overseas pursuant to military or government orders, regardless of age.

Look at this Stef, its a news release about exactly what your asking,....found it after I replied,...I knew I had read something somewhere,...sorry looks like you have to pay,....I know I did!!

Thanks Jodee!!!

Well, that 70 dollars would have been nice for our vacation. I guess you can't have everything. But at least I am still paying the low fee. smile.gif
