Hi all Vjer,

Quick question, I filed for K1 Visa on 6/27, they cashed my check yesterday.Does that mean that my paperworks is good and that they will be sending me the packet1 soon? I am happy about getting it started and moving along...

No... it just means that they got your file and cashed the check laughing.gif
You should receive NOA1, which is not a packet, but a paper (notice of action), where they state they received your file. From there you will be able to get your case number, so that you can follow it online (you can also get the number from the back of the checque).
NOA2, which is the approval, will come later on... hang on, you are just at the beginning of the road good.gif good thing you're with Vermont... they are moving faster as far as I know.

Yes, be glad you are at the Vermont Service Center. You should make a timeline and then compare it to others on this site, it's a really neat tool and very accurate.

You're NOA1 should be delivered very soon. NOA1 means Notice of Action One. NOA2 is the really important one. You get that when your petition is approved stateside. Then, the file is moved to the consulate. Upon receipt, the consulate will mail your fiancee Packet 3, which is a breakdown of information needed including a physical. Once you return packet 3, the consulate will schedule your fiancee's interview for K1 visa.

Hope this helps, good luck, and it will be over before you know it good.gif

I see. So NOA1,next NOA2 then Packet 3 and finally Packet4 right? How long it the time from NOA1 to NOA2? Just planning ahead so when it comes down to it I would have everything ready....

Thank again

The time between NOA1 and NOA2 varies, you can see an estimated time on the processing page http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...&page=times. VSC is currently estimated at 63 days, but some people on here have been waiting over 80. There's been a slow down for some reason and there's alot of VSC filers waiting for NOA2's.

WOW ,ouch that's not good. So once I recieve the NOA1 ,I would just have to wait for NOA2? Anything I need to do in between NOA1 and NOA2?

Yes... there is guides6ly.gif

You will find lots of useful information there! I also saw you filled in your timeline, you have a projected date of adjudication (NOA2). That is based on estimations of everyone filling their timelines here in visajourney and it's more or less accurate.
There are also lots of statistics if you browse over the K1 case filing and progress board http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=128
smile.gif good luck and you can at least be reassured you're connected to the best source of info there is on this process: visajourney yes.gif
Yager
I just saw that my check was cashed yesterday. I sent my I-129f to Nebraska and they sent it to California. Why did they do that when California is slower than Nebraska! Now I have to wait almost 4 months for approval? *sigh*

Welcome to VisaJourney...you will find that this has been the way it is for some time now. California and Vermont process all the I-129Fs. Welcome to the wait. kicking.gif

There's not much you need to do unless they send you an RFE. Way down the line when the HCMC consulate gets your case there will be a host of things for you to gather in preparation for your fiance's interview.

The fun is just beginning.
