QUOTE(Paula&Minya @ Jul 6 2007, 07:10 PM)

Am I being over-paranoid? We had a successful re-interview...and he was told the visa was approved. My fiance was told to wait, the visa would be ready soon, but after an hour or so he was told: "It looks like the visa will not be ready this afternoon. Please come back Monday, between 1-4 to pick up your passport w/ visa in it."
I have called DOS, and asked for a the status, and the visa specialist told me that according to the databse the visa was approved today....but does not show that visa was issued.

My question is, given our 221(g) issuance at the first interview, can they still turn around and put us on AR even after they've approved the visa and told him to come pick it up Monday? Maybe I am being to schitzo (sp?) about all this....but given what hapenned last week, my brain will be working overtime until he calls me w/ "Visa in Hand" news.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-P
Paula, don't worry

Easy to say, I know, cause I went through the same thing and fricked out: they told me everything was OK and to wait for the visa inside the consulate, then after 2 hours and a half, when I was the only one left inside with my daugther, they called me and said to come back the next day after our passports cause visa could not be issued. And I asked WHY (see, it's good sometimes to be a lawyer

), are there any problems? And she said NO, and answered me , pretty embarassed, that the only "problems" were on their side, and they were technical problems and that's why the visa could not be issued in the same day, as they hoped.
True that it did go through my mind that they were somehow keeping something from me, but I went out and gave it a better thought: we are not use to trust the system. But they are. They would never say "yes, you were approved and visa will be issued come back tomorrow" and then say "ooops, we did a mistake". I do not think that would be the case. Then my daugther's nanny, who have been waiting for us outside the whole time, told us that several other people came out with the same message, and that also people from the day before came in today just to pick up their passports.
So do not worry, it seems it's common practice that they have "technical problems"
