We filed for AOS/EAD mid February, got NOA1 a couple weeks later. How long does it take to get a biometrics appointment ? It's coming on April and no letter or update on USCIS's site on hubby's case/s.

Edit: Yikes! I noticed that actually we sent in AOS/EAD package on Feb 9, received NOA1 on Feb 15. Yet it's a month and a half past and no biometrics letter? Most posters here seem to get theirs within 2 weeks-1month, what gives?

Hello agmy,

It also depends on the pace of processing of your district office.
For people who applied for both AOS and EAD together it takes between 30-45 days for the appointment letter to be received. You can get more accurate information from the USCIS Processing Dates webpage.

However it takes longer for people who applied only for EAD for reasons I do not know.
I applied in November for EAD and I have still been waiting for the issuance of the card.

I wish you a speedy processing.

If you think you should have received the biometrics appointment letter by now you might want to shcedule an Infopass appointment at USCIS website. Then you can ask your questions about your case directly to an immigration officer at your district office. You might try reaching an immigration officer through the customer service (if they let you talk to them) but the general experience with these people is that they are not there to help.

Regards
