My fiance is flying up for our twice-a-year visit (

) and I won't be able to be there to meet him as I will get off work when his plane is due to arrive (10:30 pm). I'm in KW, and thus he has to bus it from TO to KW.
He needs to go from Pearson to the Bay street terminal, but I have no idea what's the best way for him to make that leg of the journey. I'm very anxious about it; and the TTC website is NO help. The bus he would need to catch from TO would leave at 11:30pm.
He's essentially unfamiliar with TO, and getting from the subway to the bus station can be a nightmare (I've gotten lost so many times thanks to exiting the wrong exit from the metro and wound up frantically lost trying to find the bus station and not miss my bus!) and I want to spare my sweetie whatever grief I can.
Surely there must be some sort of express or shuttle service to the bus terminal from the airport? I don't want my precious fiance lost somewhere in Toronto!

I've always taken the subway from Dundas from the greyhound terminal.

Could not edit the last post...
If he is going from YYZ to KW he does not need to go all the way to Bay St. He can take either a cab or a bus or even subway to the bus terminal at Yorkdale mall which would be closer and then take a bus from there. There is a bus that leaves at 7.30pm according to the greyhound website.

Sorry just thought of a 3rd option. If he is traveling light, he can take a Mississauga transit bus from terminal 2 to the Mississauga Transit Terminal at Square one shopping complex (its the last stop on the trip) and take a greyhound bus from Mississauga to Waterloo university. I am not sure how far you are from the University but this is another option.

There's a TTC Airport Express bus that does pick-ups at every Terminal in Pearson, I believe it is the Airport Rocket bus # 187. You may have to call TTC to confirm the bus number, I know it runs out of Kipling Subway Station and runs till well past midnight. i've taken it several times. $2.75 & It will bring him right to Kipling where he'd just need to take the Eastbound to Bay Station.

If you don't want the hassle , there's this
http://www.airwaystransit.com/schedules.shtmlThis is part of the reason I stopped using Pearson, and just drive over to Syracuse.

I appreciate the suggestions, but most of them won't help me.
Here's the problem: last bus to KW leaves TO only one hour after his plane arrives. (10:30 - 11:30) The 7:30pm will be long gone, and all the shuttle services take 1.5 hrs (according to their info) to get from Pearson to TO bus terminal.
The problem with all the TTC stuff and the shuttle stuff is that it seems to take too long. Does anyone know how much time it takes to get the Metro from the Airport to Union Station? Can he make it in less than a hour?
I am flipping out. $70 for a one-way fare is insane. Did I mention I am flipping out?
If you are really worried about him getting to the bus terminal, you could just get him an Airflight Service Limo/Taxi.
If it's going to cost you $70 one way for the bus, the taxi is $110 to Kitchener and he won't have to deal with late night travels on the bus/subway in downtown Toronto...a city he's not familiar with.
Anyhoo...just an option

Sorry, what is KW?
An hour from Pearson to Union on TTC may not be do-able cause it's always longer to deplane & do customs etc. The Airport Express & the subway are quick, if Bay station is as far as you would be going. do-able but very tight.

Sorry, what is KW?
KW is Kitchener-Waterloo

http://www.airflightservices.com/home/index.phpRound trip bus fare from TO to KW, because he is a student, is about $25. The taxi/shuttle service would be $70 one way from TO to KW. This is so retarded; he booked this flight because it was the cheapest, but we end up paying extra elsewhere.
Apparently Greyhound discontinued the 12:30am TO to KW bus.

I was taking the airport shuttle from Kingston, only ran 3 times a day.....$140 round trip.
Pearson just sucks, actually it's a toss up tween that and O'hare. I doubt he'll make that last bus to tell you the truth.
Maybe the best thing to do is have him wait for you to pick him up. I know it's late, but by the time the plane lands and he walks all the frigging way to customs and Immigration, .......etc . I don't think he'll have too long a wait.

I can't pick him up; I have neither a car nor a license. But I
do have a driving phobia! Oh wait, that doesn't help.
It looks like our only option is to pay the $70 for shuttle fare to get him from the airport to KW.

Yep theres the mini busses that go to Kitchener, London, Guelph etc. My parents always get them to come get me. I get my bags after I land and pass through immigration, then hang a immediate left from where everyone is waiting for the arrivals. Walk down the hall a ways and then there's a waiting area where all those shuttles come get you. You do need reservations.
Yeah I'm lucky I don't pay for it though, so if money is a big thing, then yeah, that might not be the best...

he'll be lucky to get deplaned and through customs and get his luggage in under an hour!

No one can pick him up? ANy friends or family to help you out? I say take a cab, that way he's direct to you and there with no problems. I have taken the train from TO to KW, it was from downtown T.O. then off to Montreal, so I don't know the actual $$. Try a cab from the airport to the train station then train to Kitchener, drops you right down by Kaufman loft area....good luck,

I know from Greyhound to the west end of Mississauga (home) is like $70.. so, I'd guess it'd be around $50 from greyhound to the airport by cab..

To quote my boss "
Monday is
Manday!"
A friend has graciously booked the next morning off work so she can drive him the night before, because she knows how stressed we are financially. I am wracked with guilt, but there you are.
The only viable option would have been the $70 shuttle from TO to KW. Ouch.
Manday is only a few days away!

That was so nice. Your friend wouldn't have offered if it would put her out too much. Don't feel guilty about it!! Just remember to do something for her when she needs a hand

She's probably just looking for a reason to sleep in
Mine is coming July 20th, I'm hoping I don't have a problem going over to Syracuse to pick him up, cause I don't know anyone who would run out there for me. I don't want to think how we can twist Friday
You have a great time!! Are you able to go to the airport with her to pick him up?
