Dunno if anyone's been curious or not, but here's an update anyway.
I arrived in Dallas on Sunday, June 24th; the flights were OK. The one from NYC was better than the one from London, but at that point I'd had so much stress and BS that I didn't really care if the plane crashed or not.
My cats arrived the day after I did. They're not dealing with the stress very well.
My money still hasn't arrived; my solicitor in York bungled the wire transfer and didn't admit it for days.
I hope to buy a car on Wednesday.
My husband and I are talking regularly but I don't know if he will come here to the USA and I'm not going to plan my life around that.

H_A,
Thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you're getting along. Life is bound to feel a bit stressful for a while, but you'll get through it, I'm sure.
Thought you might be interested to read this thread (if you haven't already). People really did track your flight and were thinking of you.

I've sworn off foreigners forever; I'm just not dealing with this again.

It's nothing against foreigners; I just don't want to deal with visas or overseas moves ever again. I'm never living abroad again. I'm done...finished. At this point I'd be happy to never set foot in the UK again. I probably will someday, but hopefully not for a long time.
It's time to date American men only...or at least men who already live here and WANT to continue living here.

Welcome home, and welcome back here! I know a lot of people have been thinking of you and wishing you well. I am really pleased you are safely back in Texas.
The cats will come around, but they will milk the situation for all they can to get the maximum amount of love out of you.
I hope you keep "checking in" and let us all know how it goes.
Good luck with the car....
Take care.

The head of accounts at the solicitor's told me that the wire went through yesterday; hopefully it'll get converted at today's rates which are kick-###. The BoE meets on Thursday and whatever happens I think the pound may go down against the dollar on Thursday so I want it converted at TODAY'S rate.
I'm like...FINALLY.
The solicitors messed up the wire so they're giving me 4.8% interest in compensation; on nearly 37,000 pounds 8 days' interest works out to about $70. I told them in no uncertain terms that that was completely unacceptable. I'm gunning for compensation of over 1,000 pounds. They f*cked up. They owe me.

Yeah really; here I was thinking I was in the land of sunglasses and flip-flops. At least up here in north Dallas we're in no danger from floods...whew! The elevation up here is too high; I've never heard of this area flooding.
I saw Lake Lewisville was flooding; you're not up there are you?

Welcome home!!!
I had lesser money issues, tried to use my UK debit card to withdraw money, it was declined. Tried again at the same machines and others, tried to use it for payment at the store, all declined.
Rang my bank, 20 mins later they tried to feed me the line 'you tried to make multiple transactions' whereupon I became a stark raving maniac and told them if the FIRST transaction had gone through, there wouldn't have been any other attempts!

One of them is on thyroid meds though; she's refusing to take them and now I have to take her to the vet.
I'm getting today's exchange rate and I think the pound is at its peak before the BoE meeting Thurs....phat cash! The wire came through this morning FINALLY.

I should have access to some of my money on Thursday but the 10k GBP check I deposited with the BOA still hasn't cleared and I wouldn't have expected it to yet. At least I'm in a good position financially which helps take some of the sting out of what has happened.
My husband may still come to the USA, but I am not counting on it and I am trying to move on with my life. If he doesn't want to come I'm not going to beg because I don't want to be with someone who has to be constantly persuaded to do anything, and frankly I'd love it if I never had to speak to his cow of a mother ever again. That woman owes me an apology...a groveling apology...and I'll never get it from her. I don't want a mama's boy.

Hehe, you're welcome! I just hope I wasn't wrong; I think you'll strangle me if the pound goes to $2.50!

Nothing I've read indicates that it will, though; everything I've read indicates to me that if it does go higher, it'll be by thousandths/ten thousandths of cents. The pound is already off its peak from yesterday.

I'll give him a chance, but he only gets one. I value myself too much to put myself through this repeatedly. I'm also not putting my life on hold waiting for him to sh!t or get off the pot.
