We will be going back to England at the end of September, and I'm wondering if I'll look like a total American dork if I take my Rockport walker shoes and my boot cut jeans. blush.gif I don't usually give a rip what anyone thinks of how I look, but I'm meeting my in-laws and Simon's friends for the first time, and I don't want them to think he's married some tasteless American. And still, I want to be able to do a lot of walking and be comfortable.

I will obviously be packing more than one pair of jeans and shoes (and won't be dressed casual when we meet everyone for the first time), but just wondering what the stylish girls are wearing for a casual day of walking around in a villiage and seeing the sights.

We will be mostly in Sheffield and Whitby with a couple days on either end in London. We will be there two weeks total. Sooooo looking forward to it!! luv.gif

We are renewing our wedding vows at his Church in Sheffield while we are there, it will be on our one year anniversary. I would love to find a beautiful hat to wear. Having no idea how to get it home if I do, other than just to carry it.

Oh - no worries, I need to get used to that sort of thing, being 42 an all. whistling.gif

We've been to Whitby before and we absolutely love it there, so we are looking forward to going back. This time, hopefully with a better camera so I can take some great photos of the Abbey. And that fish and chips place near the bridge - Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Ok cool - then I'll take my jeans and walking shoes and just worry about being comfortable unless we are going out somewhere. We are only taking two rolling duffle bags and a couple of back packs this time, no massive suit cases to drag through the Tube, that was a nighmare!

Chris and I are Whitby people!
I always say that is where I knew I loved him.
We go often!

Big fans of Fish and Chips at the Dolphin.
Last time I was there we ate a lovely dinner at an Italian place that we never noticed before.
Allessis we think....(brain isn't working) anyway it is on the Abby side of the river near the Endeavour Pub(leftside if you are walking away from town).
The father was cooking while the daughter was serving. BEST terimissu. It was just so quaint and lovely for a romantic dinner for two.

I wish I were going to Whitby!! smile.gif
Have a great time meeting everyone!

John & Annie - We will be going to St. Marie's, the Catholic Cathedral in Sheffield, for our vows renewal. That is where he proposed to me too. wub.gif

Yes - ajames79 - the place is called Alesse's, or something like that. Very romantic little place with good food. We had such a smoochy mushy dinner there, it was fantastic!!!

I just can't wait to go!!! I'm so excited to just get away, and also about meeting this family I married into!! huh.gif laughing.gif I've met his sister who is just totally sweet, and have spoken to his parents over Skype, but have not met them or his granddad yet.

And will packing my bags full of cool stuff to bring back with Christmas only a few months after! Easy quick Christmas shopping!! Waaahooo! kicking.gif
