Hi all
No word from Montreal on my interview (shocking I know!!) but ...thinking ahead.... once I finally get the K3 and activate it...how long do we have to wait for work authorization? I am going to try and transfer with my present employer and don't even know when I should put in a request.
Growing old and weary waiting waiting waiting

EAD wait times vary but I think it's a safe bet to assume at least 90 days

About 90 days for an EAD (I'm still waiting).
If your Canadian employer issues a transfer AND can keep you on the Canadian payroll until you get your EAD, problem solved. You're authorised to work for a Canadian employer already as a Canadian citizen.

Well that is quite the list of eligible jobs but I didn't make the cut as an airline agent! sigh. At least I have the option of being able to fly back and forth easily and can cross.. activate my K3 and claim residency in the US and still commute back up for work in Canada until the EAD. Just more back and forth and hassle until I can finally live with my husband! I feel for all of you that have to spend so much time apart from your loved ones while you wait for this process.
