The guides on here state that proof of an on-going relationship needs to be sent with the I-12F but nothing on the I-129F aks for it. I was under the impression that we just needed to prove that we had seen each other in person at this stage. Can anyone confirm for me - we are hoping to send the package off tomorrow. dancin5hr.gif

Include evidence of seeing each other within two years such as airline boarding pass, travel passport showing entry & exit stamp, airline ticket receipt, bank\credit receipt transactions during visits. Do you get the picture? Good luck.

Thank you for your response but you haven't really answered my question. I am aware that we need to prove that we have seen each other in person within the last two years. I'm trying to find out if we need to prove an on-going relationship when we file the I-129F or not. The guides on here seem to imply that we do yet the I-129F doesn't ask for it. But thanks for taking the time to reply.

It seems to vary according to who is reviewing the case at USCIS. Some people have been approved without evidence of a relationship and other have posted that they got an RFE.

Thank you RosemarieL. In that case we shall send it anyway, just to be on the safe side.

For proof of an ONGOING relationship you can provide copies of written letters and greeting cards that you sent to each other, include the envelopes showing postmarks, current phone bills, E Mails, chat logs, and such.
True it is not a requirement when sending in your I-129-F, but if you have those items, it will not hurt you to submit them at this stage. We did and got no RFE. You will , however, need them later on for the interview.

My fiance and I received an RFE (Request for Evidence) of having met in person within the previous 24 months. The I-129F does not request proof of an ongoing relationship. The guides could be suggesting that people begin collecting evidence of an ongoing relationship early on in order to have lots collected when proof is requested.

As others have indicated, proof of having met in person include verifiable evidence, such as:

Plane tickets
Boarding Passes
Copies of visas issued/passport pages
Hotel bills
Receipts of purchases made with a credit card during the visit
Photos (are a good addition, but not enough on their own)

So, gather your documents and send that package off !!!!! Much good luck! May you both possess an abundance of patience (for the U.S. government, not each other), wacko.gif and may you have a speedy, successful experience.
