Hello everyone....
I'm a little new. I just sent off my I-130 today with the $190 fee since it's before 7/30. I see that if you are filing the I-129F afterwards as a K3 (which I am doing) and you file it after the 7/30 date, there is no fee for the I-129F...so does that mean that I might be making out like a bandit here and only having to pay $190 for the whole thing??? I didn't read anything about any exceptions or anything so if anyone knows of any please let me know! I guess I could just wait and see, I'm sure if I send my packet in without the payment, they will happily return it to me with open palms waiting for their payment.
Thanks. I apologize for not introducing myself and updating my profile...I'll work on that as soon as I get my next batch of paperwork together!!

It is really difficult to read with that size, and also getting the full page one. I suggest you to put the link of USCIS.

Hi Guys!
Here's the thing: Say i am applying for a K-3 Visa and sent my I-130 (190 USD) before the fee increase deadline (i.e., July 27, 2007) then i received my NOA1 August 6, 2007 - how much will i pay for sending my I-129F? Will the old fee apply? Will it be free according to the new guidelines?
Thanks!

I filed AOS in October of 2005. It seems some of the fees have doubled. Can someone post a comparison of the basic fees for K1, AOS and Advanced Parole? Thanks.

I have a question... I mailed my I-485 and I-765 on July 26th to the USCIS with the old fee since I did not know of the increase... so does that mean that I am on the clear since it was mailed before the July 30th increase? does the postmark date counts? or is it the actual date when the USCIS opens my envelope and gets to my applications?

Please let me know... thanks for the info and help....

The postmark date counts as isstated on the USCIS website, evrything mailed in before the July 30th post mark wll be accepted with old fees.

That was my question exactly. I sent my I130 on 7/19 with $190. I am thinking that the NOA1 might tell us what to pay. If it does not, I will just send my I129F with no payment and see what they say. It seems like no one really knows the answer to this.

How I'm reading this is that if I am filing the I-485, I-765 & I-131 concurrently, all I have to send in is the $1010. Is this correct? I just sent in my I-130 last week.
Thanks.

Im really confused about this. My fiance is coming in September. We are planning on getting married as soon as possible, but Im not sure what all these fee's are. Will we have to pay for all these papers to be filed? I thought it would be only the AOS that we have to pay for, and Im confused about how much that will be too. Can anyone give me some help figuring this all out. My math skills are horrible...and Im really worried about all this.
Thank you so much!

Oh yes...
AOS means you have to file the I-485 ... which now costs $1010
Then, two years after that... you have to file the I-751 to remove conditions on your permanent residence card ... $545 + $80
These prices are very steep
FVA
Jul 31 2007, 01:42 AM
echomyst: it's $545.00 for removing conditions. you add another $80 if you apply with dependents.
p.s. oh man, applying for aos got reaaaaly expensive!

The prices are extremely steep but lets let USCIS know love always wins out. They can't take that away from us no matter how steep the fees get. The power of love wins out over capitalism. At least I would hope so. They seem intent on preventing us from bringing our loved ones here to the US of A. Well they have lost in my case and many others. Lets see if the service is better once the fees have increased.

LOL, the Government is making a KILLING! And Lorenzo, you are absolutely right especially in my case where I'm going through the slowest consulate on the planet!! I'm sure many relationships from the DR have broken up just on the difficult feat that it is to be in a long distance relationship. But I plan to stick it out to the bitter end, no matter how long it takes or how high the fees get.
I just hope and pray with the butt load of money they are charging that they get some new consuls in the Dominican Consulate. I'm going to stay positive. I think the less you think about it, the faster the time goes by.

Ok I have a view on this, it may not be in agreement with everyone here but.....
We have many of us spent months and years waiting for the chance to be with someone we love, I for one had high hopes that me and my loved one would have filed my 129f by now, but things and life etc have made it difficult right now, but when the time comes, I'll gladly pay the $$$'s.
Why? because, love is priceless, money is absolutely no competition for it. I know to some this may be condescending and for that I apologise, but folks, lets get a little perspective here

HI,
Well it seems we well and truly missed the boat. We got married on the 4th and are just about start my AOS from the K1. I am trying to figure out exactly how much I need to send. I guess it’s just the 1 fee of $1010. As that covers the filing the biometrics the EAD and the Advanced parole? Can anyone tell any different?
Also I wasn’t planning on using the advanced parole but seeing as I have to pay for it anyway may as well use it. I tried to find some guidelines as to how specific you need to be with the travel dates. anyone know? For example if I was to put I wanted to travel back to England next June and didn’t actually go to mid July is that ok??
Thoroughly confused! I figured once I got to America things would get simple. Wrong again!
Thanks in advance.

Holy crap, I am so depressed! If I had been on the ball I could have saved us $270 on the I-751!!!!! I mean, I could've legally sent in the app on July 24 (90 days b/f green card expires) but I didn't and now I'm really depressed.

I need help figuring out the initial K1 fililing fees.
I know that they want $455 for the I129F.
But many posts on this site mention two other forms that require fees.
They often mention the "fee for the visa itself."
What do I need to send in the intial packet under thenew rules?

$455 for the I 129f.
The 'visa fee' is paid for at the consulate interview. I believe it varies from consulate to consulate, but ours was $100.

Ok, un-depress yourself! The thing about the USPS, once you give them your package, you can't get it back...so for future reference, do not try. It's against the law *I think* for them to give you your package back once they have received it. Secondly, I doubt that the USCIS will send your package back. What they probably will do is send you a notice letting you know that they can't proceed with your case until you send them the remainder of the fee. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't cash the check they gave you and just ask you for the rest. This may delay your case a little but I don't think you need to be depressed about it. Also, make sure when you are pulling forms to be filled that you go to the USCIS website and get the latest form...the new forms should have the payment due and all that information on it. If you are using old forms and not checking for new ones, you will further delay your case. Just do a little extra leg work before you send your packets out and you'll be just fine.
Stop stressing...and trust me--the gov't will get what they need from you. No worries about that.

Thanks, I hope you are right. I was actually very careful with everything --tripple checking everything before I sealed the envelope. But, of course, I neglected the obvious. It took a while for me to gather all the information, including getting my wife to sign the forms and getting them back to me, and then USCIS went and chaged stuff on me.
I guess I'll find out in a few weeks...

i'm confused about the timing of paying fees. after we are married in thailand this coming january 2008, i can file the I-130, and i need to send $355.00 when i file- correct? then, when i recieve notification, i file the I-129F, which has no fee. is this correct?
then, after all their decidings and other steps, my wife gets a visa that will enable her to come to the united states. correct?
then, i file to have her status adjusted, so she can live and work here, and THAT costs $1010.00- correct?
so do i only need $355.00 to start, then some months later, when she comes here, i need $1010.00. - correct?
it's going to be several thousands of dollars to goto thailand this time, and several thousands for her to fly here later (more if we come here together), so i'm trying to get a handle on how much money i'm going to have to make to get all this done - and WHEN i have to make it.
thanks yall!

here's my share of horrible fees questions. Here's the thing, i got the packet and have read the procedure to be followed for getting all doc. to be completed. but as i was reading it on the Medical part. The fee is said to be $95. and all extra vaccination is optional. while on the other hand the website said and some here said the fee for medical is $ 145. pls. give some good answer to this matter. i just want to be clear with it. the money isnt the issue at all...but its much better to be aware of changes right? thanks to all of the responses coming up... lets continue to help out each other to make our lives easier.
