In case anyone hasn't heard already

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6252276.stm

There have now been 3 suspect vehicles, last one in Fleet Street, which is now closed off.

A news conference is now in progress, MSNBC etc are covering it live.

My husband just emailed me about this! Sounds like if they closed down Park Lane that the US Embassy was shut down too. Hoping no one had an important interview during that time! Thank God for that Policemen's fast thinking to disconnect the mobile as well!

I was wondering that, about the Embassy... but they're so used to bomb scares etc in London that even a suspicious vehicle on Park Lane wouldn't be enough for a building as 'far' away as the Embassy to be evacuated... I hope nobody had any interviews disrupted, though. Getting there will have been a bit of a pain in the arse, I imagine, with the traffic jams this will have caused...

i'm just so grateful they found this before it was too late.

Bomb components found in second car on London street

LONDON, England (CNN) -- A second car found on a London street on Friday contained possible bomb materials, sources told CNN, hours after police disarmed an explosives-filled car in the city's busy theater district.

The second car was towed from Trafalgar Square to Park Lane overnight, because it was illegally parked, the sources said.

At the Park Lane garage, workers called authorities when they became suspicious after news of the first incident, because the car smelled of gas.

Police and security sources say the car was found to contain components very similar to the first car -- definitely fuel, and possibly much more.

They said the car is of grave concern, and could potentially be a second car bomb.

A senior U.S. official with knowledge of the London investigation told CNN the car was linked to the vehicle outside the club, and that some materials found inside the car were very similar to explosive materials found in the car near Piccadilly Circus.

Car on fire crashes into airport

A car on fire has been driven at the main terminal building at Glasgow Airport, police have confirmed.

BBC source

the suspects in Glasgow are first class dumbfcks -- apparently not brave enough (or without enough conviction) to be suicide bombers, they are arrested because they are injured trying to get away and needed to go to hte hospital - paid for by the very people they are trying to destroy.

The UK's national terrorism threat has been raised to its highest level after an attack on Glasgow Airport was linked to two car bombs found in London.
