Everyone on their timelines talks about getting "touched." Almost sounds dirty, and likewise, doesn't seem like a bad thing. What does it mean? How do you know if your file has been "touched."

You can create an online account to check on your case status. Whenever the date changes in the "Last Updated" column, we talk about a "touch". It means they worked on your application or simply moved your file from one desk to another.

Add a timeline so we can all know your process. Also, did you sign up for email updates for your case at USCIS.gov? Good luck, and believe me, being "touched" is good!
