I'm a USC currently living outside the country. My last residence was Miami, FL.
1) If they are only processing in 2 locations does this mean it'll be slower in the coming months?
2) If processing time is more important than the fee increase ($170 vs $455), does it make sense to file now in early July for in Texas and have it transferred to Vermont, or just wait until I come under Vermont on July 30th?
Ideas anyone?
Thanks

Yep

. The locations are not official until then but they accept them early at the new locations as well and mis-filed up to a month after (they will redirect).

Ok im confused, about these new changes. Does that mean that my application will automatically be transfered to CSC or do I have to send a copy of the I-129 F that I summited for my husband over year ago with copy the of my receipt notice? Neither one of my applications have been ajudicated. 130 is at CSC and I129F was sent to the chicago lock box.

I don't see how the new rules would have any impact on pending cases (except that it MIGHT be transferred, which would require nothing further from the petitioner).

So had I waited a month or so longer, I could have now filed the petition at Vermont? Early of the changes?

Their official press release stated that otherwise properly filed I-129f would be accepted at the new direct filing locations in advance of 7/30/07. I plan today to follow up on this with a contact I have at the USCIS

just for a bit of clarification - according to the initial post, Texas
residents now send to Vermont... but some people who had already filed at the Texas processing centre have had their documents sent to California... I'm assuming that this, too, was based on state of residence?
in any case, as I understand it: we're about to file this week (Petitioner lives in Texas), so can send it direct to Vermont, AND still come in under the deadline for the old fee... I think someone is smiling on us

(ask me about that last comment in about seven months

Hey folks, just a bit of information:
I had previously filed about a month before this was posted. Unfortunately, through error on my part, the package was returned to me.
So I refiled, and with this information, filed in VT as that's the new center for FL.
My pkg was mailed the 10, delivered the 12, and I just got my NOA1 from California. So apparantly, VT forwarded it onto CA.
So, I'm not sure about this early file as it didn't seem to work for me.

Yeah not sure on the internal processing but the USCIS VSC will accept them at a minimum. Hopefully they do not keep sending to CSC if that was the case for you (after the 30th). Lets hope that their transition to the new processing occurs on time.

Nevada is on the list. Look carefully. It's between Idaho and Illinois. It looks like it was not in alphabetically in order.

Has anyone heard anything regarding filing right in the middle of the July 30th change? I sent my 1-130 last week to Nebraska and have read a lot of threads on here but still can't figure out if I should wait to get my NOA-1 or just send my I-29f to CSC right now. I also paid the old fee because it was postmarked before July 30 and was planning on still sending $170 with my I-29f. I wish I would have just waited until this week and sent it all together

I don't know what to do now.
