I know we did this before but a lot of new people have joined since, and rather than resurrect an old thread, I thought we could start a new one.
I started to do a spreadsheet of where everyone hailed from, but alot of people listed numerous places so that made it harder! Maybe if we could all list just one place which we call "home"?
Once we have a few, I'll start pinning them on an e-map. I just thought it'd be interesting.
I'll start...

Well, I don't really have a strong Essex accent myself. Just a standard London twang really. My Mum's side of the family are from Suffolk - Ipswich.

The boy was born in Gloucester, moved to near Sheffield as a toddler, and thence to Dover when he was 12. However, he's been in London for about 10 years (strangely, I've been a Londoner longer than he has). psho -- we're near your guy! We live near Archway tube station, not too far away.

Sorry, can't resist the temptation to add a little Welsh representation. Although I grew up in England Cardiff is my home now and i'm sure i will miss it when i move to the US - we have a word here called hiraeth - it kind of means 'longing' in English and something all Welsh expats experience apparantly! I have also lived in Sussex, Somerset, Leicester, Leeds and Newcastle, but met my fiance here in Cardiff.
I've always though it must be especially frustrating for all you guys from N.Ireland in particular to have to travel to London twice for medical and interview. How long does it take you to get there?

Oh I know, I agree. It was difficult for me to live there. I have to be careful what I say, since Conrad and his whole family are from and still live there. Wythenshawe on a whole is huge, so of course there are better parts than others. I can't wait to get him out of this environment, I think it affects him in a negative way for sure.
