I've been searching for a multi regional DVD player at Target and Walmart and haven't been able to find one. I remember reading on here that someone bought a cheap one from Walmart but I can't find the post (I think it was pre-visajourney crashing). I have the new series of Little Britain and I'm desperate to watch it!!! Any tips on where to find a region free player would be greatly appreciated, all the boxes that I looked at were only region 1.
Much appreciated
Nicola

You can buy a regular old DVD player ( even the cheapy ones ) and enter in some codes to change it to region 0 (region free). Then you'll be able to play discs from any region.
I bought a Cyberhome for $34.99 and coverted it with no problem.
Check out this site:

Debs bought me
this DVD player for Christmas 2 years ago. Its cheap as chips and we found multiregion hacks online which enable me to watch all my UK DVD's. Infact that hack makes it region free so you'll be able to watch DVD's from ANYWHERE !!
This
link has the instructions on how to make it region free.
If you're looking for a cheap way to watch UK DVD's won't find much better than this !!

Oh great thanks a lot... I'm off to Walmart tonight!!! I did bring my UK DVD player over, which was a waste of time because all of the connections are not compatible with the US connections.... Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!!! Little Britain here I come!!!!!!

In my classes, we use foreign DVD's and what we did was go online and get a list of codes to input into the DVD to change the zones. They were a series of buttons to push on the remote.

Bought daughter that model at Wal-Mart for Christmas 2004 and it plays fine. Don't know about the Multi Regional capabilities.
Person posted before the hack to do it.

We have the Cyberhome one mentioned above. There's a hidden menu option to reset the region to 0 (you can find it if you search for the player on Amazon, I believe it's something like "Hit Menu, there are 8 options, choose '9' instead, and then you can reset the region"). So we have a nice DVD player that we didn't want to void the warranty on, and the cheap one for foreign DVDs.

We like it because it's so small as well! Doesn't clutter stuff up!

I ended up buying a multi-region DVD player online after being told in stores that they were illegal to sell now in the states. Does anyone know if this is true?
