Yeah I called them yesterday and that's when she told me that it's 5-10 business days to answer e-mails. I said so what should we do since it seems this e-mail thing is not working and she suggested sending in a letter. I don't know-I guess we could do that. And actually Javier has received his DS-whatever packet in the mail. I just don't trust him to fill it out correctly. This is such a pain! Thanks!!!

I fax em from my computer using the fax facility in windows xp

they actioned it quite quickly

Vylex, have they not yet responded to your choice of agent e-mail? I sent our second e-mail attempt one day before you sent yours.

Not yet. I am still awaiting response. My wife hasn't received the hardcopy of the DS-3032 although I have along with the hardcopy of the AoS fee Bill (1 week delivery time since generation).

One other question, when you send the email to the NVC do you get the autoresponse that they received it and it will be processed in the order it was received?

Also, did I understand saywhat correctly in that he faxed a completed DS-3032 form to the NVC?

I emailed the choice of agent on July 3rd and gave them a call yesterday and just now. I put a 'read receipt' on the email and it came back on the 5th as read.

They 'haven't received it', NVC suggested I should resend today, which I will.

I just got our answer from the NVC. They answered the second e-mail, not the first. The one I sent on 2 July. Anyway, moving right along!!

Man, they must be getting a ton of cases because they're behind on every little step there is to take at the NVC. They told me the DS-230 would be generated this week and I still get nothing.

My husband emailed the choice of agent on July 3rd as well. We haven't heard anything yet. I'm wondering if I should give NVC a call tomorrow or just wait it out since they are probably behind? Maybe it should be re-sent?

I also had my wife send it on the 3rd. I'll give them until early next week before I have her resend.

Vylex, sounds like a good idea, I think I will wait until early next week as well. Then just for the heck of it, I'll give NVC a call and if they tell me to resend it I will. smile.gif

I would duplicate it with a fax- can't do any harm...don't know if they have a paper fax receiver or just a screen but people tend to take faxes more urgently...

It will be ok - it's just such a grind !

I was out for a drink with an old friend last night and he said he had never known me to swear in 20 years - I was swearing - I realised that the whole thing is getting me depressed...

I know it's moving along at it's own slow pace and all will be ok - but our whole lives are put on hold month after month in the wettest dreariest summer for probably a thousand years - stuck in a rented house in a part of the country I really dislike and just waiting - and it's been getting me down. At 1pm yesterday I had the heating on full and the lights on too so I could see the screen - that has been going on 6 weeks now - constantly . So that was a wake up call and I will put the NVC stages on my calender but I am not going to let it get me down in future and I am going to busy myself with other things.

So we all have the same challenge - do what we can do and not get upset by all the delays and errors and inefficiencies and confusion - I started January 9th and there are months to go and it ain't easy.

Hang in there! It's almost over! You're practically at the final stage. I remember when I had it all planned out to apply for a DCF and then the Adam Walsh law took effect. I was devastated because it threw a wrench into our plans. I recovered from that and decided to file the I-130 right away. Although it has delayed our plans a bit, we still know that in the long run things will be fine.

Also is the Fax: 603-334-0791?

She is still waiting for the form but I can scan the one I received and have her sign and fax it. Thanks for the tip! It definitely can't hurt.

Thanks! Take care and enjoy that afghan curry. Sounds interesting!

Oh as luck would have it, I called this morning to find out if they processed the AoS Bill payment. They did. I also asked if they received any notice of my wife's email. They did not process it yet. Sooooo....two hours pass and I find out they JUST emailed her the confirmation email. What a coincidence! I'll take it.

Good afternoon,

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa
Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated
agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions
before the instruction packet will be sent.

Regards,
National Visa Center

LOL! It appears they have been preserved through the ice age.

Apparently the email was sent just before midnight on the 13th. It also took .6 seconds to get the email from the NVC to Australia according to the timestamps. Just some useless statistics for VJ members. jest.gif

So I resent my email yesterday morning around 11 a.m.. Just received the reply that they received it and will send the DS230 - good-o!

I called up NVC this morning and asked about the email and was told to resend it. I did and I got that NVC inquiry automated response thing, so here's hoping that they will accept it THIS time! Maybe I'll receive an email from 'em on Monday perhaps? That would be nice. smile.gif

Ah, actually I got that autoresponse the 1st time around too. (sorry, I forgot to mention that!) So I'm hoping that THIS 2nd time around it'll work. I thought for SURE I'd hear something the 1st time around because of the autoresponse that I get. That basically says that they received my email . . . the 2nd autoresponse that I got was different though. It said something like "Thank you for your recent email..." It's like they already knew of the 1st email I sent. Hmm. Well, we shall see what happens and thank you Vylex for your wishes! smile.gif

WOOHOO! kicking.gif

Now if Mononoke and Saywhat get their much awaited paperwork generated most of us should be back on track. good.gif

Now to play the Tuesday morning dial-up game. laughing.gif

I have to say all this NVC interaction for me is making time fly! Good and bad for me haha.
MegDan
Yes, I hope Mononoke and Saywhat get their paperwork generated very soon! Ah yes, the lovely "Tuesday morning dial-up game". laughing.gif That name is just too funny!

I agree with time flying! I'm glad it's not a constant "check the USCIS website for touches game" anymore. I was going crazy with that after a while lol! Time seemed to just drag by with USCIS unlike this process with NVC.
Mononoke28
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I used to chekc the USCIS web site several times a day to see if we got a touch. Now I call the NVC 3 times a day every day, just in case we get something generated.

Keep your fingers crossed you guys and thanks for the good vibes. good.gif
MegDan
You're welcome! (And I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls the NVC many times a day too lol!)

Fingers crossed for you! smile.gif

What's going on everyone? I called the NVC this morning and their automated response told me that they generated the IV bill yesterday (oh joy!) So will the automated thingy not mention what's going on with the I-864? Does anyone know if there's a way to track a cashier's check? Thanks!

Hi Heina,

I also got the automated response for the IV Bill generation this morning!

As for the I-864 package generation, we need to call to confirm it was generated. I am willing to bet it was generated yesterday as well since my AoS Bill payment was processed last Wednesday. I figured that if they processed the DS-3032 email on Friday and generated the IV Bill the following monday, our I-864 must be generated the same day given the extra 2 days in the system.

On a side note, since I am also waiting for the IV Bill to be sent, I will most likely skip on the I-864 shortcut if I get the package by next week. I received the AoS Bill 1 week after it was generated so I am hoping the same holds true for the I-864 and the IV Bill. The DS-230 on the other hand is getting sent via James' shortcut. Daddy ain't gonna wait for that one!
Traviesa
I just spoke with the NVC because I was curious as to how this I-864 thing works. She told me that they just send out instructions on it now so as long as you know they have your payment, I don't see any reason to wait on it-go ahead and download it and send it now as opposed to later. She also said it was ok for us to use the I-864EZ as long as we qualify for it, which we do-I'll bet some more of you could use that form as well. Anyway, just wanted to let you know!
MegDan
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I called this morning and the automated service told me the same thing: The Immigration Visa bill was generated yesterday. I was like "They are missing a step." lol I tried calling this morning to speak with a customer service rep but it says the lines are busy and brought me back to the automated service. Told me to call back after 6pm.

That would be nice if I got everything at once!

Heina,

I will be using I-864EZ as well. However, didn't the operator say we need the coversheet that they will generate? I know it's just instructions as told from other members but I still think there will be some sort of cover sheet needed.
Mononoke28
Maaaaaaaaaaan!! They still haven't generated my DS-230! I called this morning and nothing. Then I spoke to a customer service rep and she said it was generated last week but there wasn't a specific date which is what I need so I can send the barcoded sheet I already generated myself.

Oh she didn't mention that. I suppose she just assumed I would wait until I receive the packet anyway. Which is actually what we're going to do since our 2006 taxes are still not completed by the IRS. You're probably right though-best to wait for the packet.

Did you submit the 2006 return though? I sent mine in although the tax return has not been processed by the IRS yet because of the ITIN delay (which I found out was issued back in May). I will be sending the NVC a copy of the 2006 tax return I filled out along with return transcripts from 2005 and 2004. I think the W-2 forms will be a key item for the current 2006 tax forms.

Hmmm, "generated last week". Is it safe to assume that the generation date will always be a Monday. If so could it mean July 9th?

I just spoke with the NVC because I was curious as to how this I-864 thing works. She told me that they just send out instructions on it now so as long as you know they have your payment, I don't see any reason to wait on it-go ahead and download it and send it now as opposed to later. She also said it was ok for us to use the I-864EZ as long as we qualify for it, which we do-I'll bet some more of you could use that form as well. Anyway, just wanted to let you know!

Heina,

I will be using I-864EZ as well. However, didn't the operator say we need the coversheet that they will generate? I know it's just instructions as told from other members but I still think there will be some sort of cover sheet needed.

Yeah, umm, ok here's the issue. We did the ITIN too but me being a dumbass forgot to put his passport in the envelope when I mailed off our taxes. IRS said just wait until we contact you. So I mailed the taxes on April 16, it wasn't until June 18 that they sent a letter requesting the passport. So I sent that overnight and here we are almost a month later, still no word on our taxes, and to make it even more fun-I tend to forget to make copies of stuff before I mail it in, so yeah I don't have a copy of our tax return. I have no choice but to wait until they process the taxes (I guess I'll know that happens when I receive my refund check) and then request the tax transcripts. I'm hoping they might just might finish our taxes within the next month.

If it's the following Monday, then the stupid thing should've generated yesterday. cray5ol.gif

Sigh. We sent out the email choice of agent thing tuesday before last, the 10th and have yet to hear anything! I called the NVC and asked them what was up and the lady basically told me to wait because it's taking 10-15 days to process this sort of thing.

Man they must be really really backed up sad.gif
Meanwhile, my husband's received the actual choice of agent email. They better hurry up and acknowledge the email! The shortcut's not supposed to take longer than the normal route!

You're welcome! (And I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls the NVC many times a day too lol!)

Fingers crossed for you! smile.gif

Count me in that too bro biggrin.gif
My cell phone bill contains the NVC number so many times. It on my speed dial list with my case number embedded so its just a one button touch to reach our dear friends @ NVC....

I call so many times that I don't even think while pushing buttons, I just do. I also push them before the lady starts saying each sentence so it takes me about 10 seconds max to get the info I need. whistling.gif

Seems most people get it in 10 days lately. Yours must be just around the corner.

Yup! NVC is one of my contacts on my list. I just press the #6 key on my cell and it brings me to the N's, which is only NVC. It's a lot quicker to dial that way.

I do the same thing as Mononoke too. I don't waste time by listening to the same thing over and over again, I just press buttons until I get to the operator or until I hear the automated message for our case. It's like it comes naturally lol and it's SO much quicker!

My husband emailed them from my email address on 7/9 and got a response yesterday 7/19 (10 days). They accepted even though my email address clearly shows my name and it was ok.

No worries my love, we just got a reply from NVC, precicely at 1:58 PM, US eastern time smile.gif. It took ten days for NVC to confirm the Choice of Agent after I sent the e-maili. (I'm just writing this info to enouhg many places so that Geist will see it today, even after I've gone to bed tongue.gif.)

These people are just swamped, I tell ya. I'm glad I'm almost outta there.

Congrats to all by the way! You're moving along just fine, slowly but surely. good.gif
